How to Program DSC PowerSeries NEO Security System using DLS Software

I am working my way through this video and setting up my new system. The DLS software would not communicate at first. I had downloaded from the link provided here. For those who also have this issue, be sure to go to HELP and then Update to get the latest version. After I did that, my software was at version 1.73 and I had no issues.
So far this video has been very helpful and I am relieved that I can use my laptop to configure my system rather than the keypad.

Excellent video and well thought out how all the info was presented!!! Thank you sharing and the time you put into this. I have an older DSC 632 panel PC1555MX PowerSeries but will use basically the same procedure as you presented. Of course, when I get to the *8 5555 code 403 & 404, I get binary number output, so had to decipher into real numbers and my numbers had 4 digits instead of 6 in your video. Again... your video was the best I found anywhere, to the point and easy to understand without all the techno-jargon of an authorized DSC Instructor. Thanks again!!!

So the panel ID and access code SHOULD be the same as the model number of the panel, just padded with zeroes at the end ? A client of ours had a DSC already installed in their building prior to signing a contract with us, but the installer code has been changed too. It's too much work to do a factory reset and figure out where all the zones are and what they should do, so I'll try this first - hopefully nobody changed these values as well. Cheers.

Informative video, Thanks. Have Power Series for 20+ years or so and thinking of upgrading. System been running good. Just had to replace battery on sensor (2 time all these years). If I cant get my DLS2002 interface running again. I just may decide for the NEO and I think that uses DLS-5. I can program from keypad but helps to have the software. So far I was able to connect and upload but no actual data that I had printed years ago on the changes I made. Still working on it. Again Thanks and I will be back for more education.

If you don't have a NEO but a PC16** you need to go to the install menu section 499 (twice) at 4:22 in order for the panel to start downloading or uploading.

Thanks! I find the video very useful. Managed to get it working remotely over IP!
Next on my wish-list would be to see how firmware upgrades over PC-LINK or IP are done. Not sure I'm brave enough for those yet.

Hi, Thanks for the excellent video and detailed steps. I have a PC1832 panel with RFK5500 keypad, and I have problems getting the program to autodetect. Just wonder what I did wrong. Even as I tried specifying the panel ID and the keypad, the program seems having problems with the RFK keypad, and keep putting in 2 separate type keypad models instead of the RFK.

Appreciate you can provide some insights to the problems. Thanks.

Hello Automation guy I'm new at this...I have an 183200 dls panel I contected it to the Pc link...going well till DLS access code section / panel ID. When I enter section 403 or 404 it says "enter Hex data" then 183200 below for both...what is this and how can I overcome this section...?? Tks

Do you need to interact with the Keypad and enter into Installer Menu 499, etc. like you need to with older Panels like PC5010 or does this accept the incoming connection automatically without Keypad intervention?
