Can you build muscle after age 40? Yes! Here's how.

✨ READ ME FOR HOW! ✨
💪Building muscle after age 40 is ABSOLUTELY possible - even for women in post-menopause (like me).
But I'm not gonna lie: it gets harder.
Because our estrogen levels are declining (estrogen is the female hormone that supports muscle growth and maintenance).
So, that means we need to be doing things a bit more 'correctly':
❌ Not just doing random exercises in the gym
❌ Not doing 'muscle endurance classes' (pump classes)
❌ Not doing circuit training classes.
Okay, yeah, if you've NEVER done anything, you may get something from those classes, but if you want to see results faster (like by summer), then skip to the good part and start lifting weights properly.
So, make sure you're doing the following:
✔ Proper resistance training - not yoga, pilates etc. those are not going to do it
✔ Apply progressive overload - as you get stronger, your muscles need more stimulus to keep growing
✔ Train close to failure - those last reps are the ones which stimulate muscle growth
✔ Prioritize recovery - muscles grow AFTER your training sessions
✔ Eat enough protein - 1g/lb of your ideal body weight is best.
