The 1985 Scottish Cup Final was played on 18 May 1985 at Hampden Park in Glasgow and was the final of the 100th season of the Scottish Cup. The previous winners were Aberdeen, who had beaten Celtic in the 1984 final, but they were knocked out by Dundee United at the Semi-final stage. The Final was contested by Celtic and Dundee United. Celtic won the match 2-1, thanks to goals from Davie Provan and Frank McGarvey.

The Scottish Cup (The Scottish Football Association Cup) is the main national cup competition in Scottish Football.

The Scottish Cup trophy is the oldest national trophy in the world. First held in 1873-74 it was first won by Queen's Park. Celtic currently hold the title having defeated Hibernian 3-0 in the 2013 Scottish Cup final.

I remember that game like yesterday, firstly because i was really scared at that time i was 18 and got in a surge towards the gates and with us bei g at the front and the police trying to push us back it was scary, thankfully doon after they opened the gates and we got in, the result was fantastic great goals from da ie provan and frank mcgarvey, it was an absolute disgrace the celtic board did not offer frank a new contract, and the celtic fans felt the same because the reception he got the following season at parkhead was amazing r.i.p frank you will be fondly remembered
