"When you choose to live your life as a passenger in someone else's car, don't be surprised when you end up upside-down in a ditch"....god love you for this one 😂.

"Nobody cares about YOU!"... I've been preaching that for decades. It's up to us, individually, to make our lives important, to ourselves. The goal should NEVER be HAPPINESS... the goal should be CONTENTMENT... which is good enough. Leave "being Happy" to those few and far between moments. THAT would make the happy moments feel more special.

I always heard it as”you’d care less about what people thought of you if you knew how seldom they thought of you” and you’re right it’s liberating.

Harsh truth...when you die none of your stuff is going with you so live experiences rather than wanting more crap.

I laughed out loud when you broke out the megaphone and declared that nobody cares about you! 😂 I love this video. Hearing you speak the truth in such a direct and droll manner is so refreshing in a world full of slick lies. Well done!

Here are some more hard truths…
1. Get over yourself
2. Get out of your way
3. Grow up
4. Start being honest with yourself
5. Stop complaining and do something about it
6. Learn to say no
7. Your emotional baggage is your responsibility and no one else’s
8. Do something about your mental illness if you have one and stop holding family and friends hostage because you won’t help yourself
9. Your life is your responsibility make it count
10. Stop believing your anxiety because it’s lying to you

Another harsh truth is that the things you think will make you happy, won’t, until you are good with yourself. This includes it all: material things, vacations, a partner, more friends, etc. The irony is that when you are good with yourself, none of those other things matter anymore.

Hi Nicole! Here are a couple of scams you might want to explore.
Weddings and funerals. I read that the average wedding cost $28, 000! WTF! We're not royalty, unless you think you are.
And the average funeral costs $9000 - 11, 000.
When I'm dead, just put my body in a trash bag and take me to the dump.

Great video! Wise and funny🎉
Another harsh truth: stop wanting and waiting for people to change. If someone treats you poorly, realize that is probably not a one time thing.
On that same note: you don't have to take s... because you're related to someone. Stop making excuses for people's bad behavior.

The "meaning of life" is simply you were born and will likely live between 75-100 years. 75-100 years after you die no one will know you ever existed. Make the best of it.

I wish I could like this twice. I'm 50. You know more now than I've been able to learn.

One of the most eye-opening moments of my life was in the Philippines, where my girlfriend knew a lady who was homeless. She lived outside a store on a mat. She had just had a baby (after being used by a man for money) and was now back on the mat with the baby. Relying on the kindness of strangers for food. As we talked, I realized that baby would never get to go to school, would never be able to get a job, and would never shop in the store they lived outside of. They would never get to eat nice things or get the opportunities that are all around us in the Western World. I've never been a lazy, entitled person like so many in the West. But that meeting changed my life. It made me realize that I struck the Powerball just by being born in a place with opportunities. And I better not waste it.

A friend I’ve had for years has major main character syndrome. I can’t get away from him because we’ve been friends since junior high. He’s so self absorbed and I swear he just likes having me as a friend so he has an audience for his drama that he’s the center of. At this point I basically humor him. He has almost no interest in my life and has never been to visit me anywhere I’ve ever lived, despite having a standing invitation. I’ve visited him many many times, I was in his wedding, know his wife and kids well, but he has almost no idea what my life has been like, the jobs I’ve had, the people I’ve dated, the friends (actual real friends) I have. Because our friendship is only about him. Like it’s kind of insane to be that self obsessed you can’t even tell that you don’t even really know your “best friend” and your “best friend” is only humoring you by listening to you drone on and on about yourself.

Summary:
1. Nobody cares about you (and that's good)
2. The only thing holding you back in life is you
3. There is always tomorrow, except when it comes to your health
4. Most people are broke, because of choices they make (not as in living in a poor country, but because of dumb decisions)
5. You have more control over your life, than you've been led to believe
6. You have enough (minimalism is key & jealousy won't get you anywhere & hedonistic adapting)
7. The things that stress you out are stupid (ask yourself: Does it really matter if I think about X right now and What is the worst possible outcome?)

In summary the harsh truths are based on stoicistic philosophy, which I'm personally a big fan of. Good video, well done!

I had a period of depression in my 20s: family bereavement, no job, no money, almost no house, failing exams due to the stress of the former. During that period, to make me happy I deliberately desired less things and derived enjoyment from really cheap small things I could control. Decades later, I find owning stuff stressful. I don't want it's hassle. Enforced moving 6 times in 5 years shows you how much you don't need!

Thank you Nicole!!!
I've had multiple sclerosis for 40 years and I am very disabled from it.
It's incurable and hopeless and genetic.
If I ever decide to end my life I have every damn right in this world to do it.
I love you Nicole because you're no bullshit.

I saw a quote recently that said being overly negative is also delusional.
