Idk what goes to my mind.. But first time learned about camera settings, i do it just with guide from some short tutorial, and go out there with full manual mode... I learned my lesson very hard... Now.. Everything looks easy to me.. Lol

Aperture and Shutter priority are convenient depending on your situation. Not sure if Sony has the setting but all of my Panasonic's had a min/max shutter as well in A-Priority mode. It's almost perfect for easy shooting, especially if you have all of the settings dialed in right. Shutter priority is nice for run and gun video as well.

I just picked up a Sony A7IV,

The last time I did photography was with a Pentax k1000 in 1988.

I knew things had changed

I personally don’t like this mode, it can still spoil the sharpness of moving objects by wrong shutter speed.

What do you suggest as a Maxximum for the A7III basic?

No need to tickle your pickle folks. Just go raw from the start and let your actions be your guide. That’s what she said
