Nice I’ll make a couple of these, but maybe add a razor blade or two

Nice. But get rid of the sparker and replace with a mini lighter. You get a lighter and a sparker.

Nice! Will be making one of these for EDC. Super compact, nice idea to use an Altoids container!

On a side note, if you don't survive, at least you'll leave behind a curiously strong minty fresh corpse👍

that's pretty cool! I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and we call that a poor man or poor boy's camping kit. I would be out there 3 days with my Boy Scout troop I was the one who had six different ALTOIDS filled with different stuff in an old military surplus messager bag along with a tarp for shelter & an old thick bed comforter blanket pinned for a sleeping bag and lots of times it would work better than the high-end equipment that my fellow &well off Scout troop buddies had time. And this was in the '90s I got laughed at all time at every campout until it rained and was cold. What memories! I still keep Altoids tins filled with my EDC stuff every day even extra ammo for EDC Derringer.

BlackScoutSurvival is a smart Dude. That is not too bad of a starter survival kit for your average person.
But I recommend looking harder and testing your kit folks. Go on a nice safe camping trip with enough stuff to survive comfortably... Then see if you can do 24 hrs with just the kit and your wits. If you fail (don't cheat) but if you fail you have a safety net. Take what you learned from the 24 hrs and refine your kit to fit your skills and shortfalls. See if you can do 36 or 48 hrs next time. Change the conditions. Not a camping trip but a road side stranded with a "broke down" car. You could do it in your driveway if you like. Maybe you upgrade from an Altoids tin to a shaving kit or fanny pack as you get better or Maybe you stick with the tin. Ether way keep it small. This isn't a bug out bag it's a kit. Something that aids you and is a tool to be used properly. I actually have a combo kit. 2 Altoids tins in a small leather pouch with a couple of other things in it that I can attache to my belt. Won't go into detail as What BlackScoutSurviival laid out is a good foundation and my kit is tailored to my skills and shortcomings. But PRACTICE is the Key in my opinion. Just having a kit you never use and never test or refine is better than nothing but practicing with it and refining it will improve your odds. Oh and honestly I don't have Altoids tins I have old cough drop tins but same thing basically.

I just saw it, I'd personally add a razor blade for cutting in case you're missing a multitool or knife

Quick and dirty. Love it. And now my jeans won't have the blood stains from keeping the fishing hooks in my front pocket. ;)

They make some really nice micro folding knives that would fit in there nicely.

I have a 44l survival army bergen which has everything. I would always take it with me when going on some adventures.

Not bad but there are smaller versions of whistles and lights that would leave more room for things like a keychain knife, folded aluminum foil, bandages, or even a chapstick. I’d also recommend a sail needle and Kevlar thread.
If you look hard enough you can pack an altoids tin with over twenty different survival items.

I like to add a 2-3” piece of bicycle wheel inner tube to the outside of the tin. It keeps the lid securely closed and burns really well.

Add a derma-safe or one of this small CRKT knifes. More cordage. And maybe a birthday or a trick candle as a flame extender and a few feet of duct tape.

If you still have space: a part of a metalsaw-blade and maybe a commando saw/wire saw.
