Yo, easy and quick and seamless video to achieve this. I can confirm it still works, but I want to point out something cause I spent some time trying to figure this out.

If you can achieve all of these steps and u can confirm that the true stretch is working (test by setting from Fill to Letterbox and see the difference and then set it back)BUT YOU STILL HAVE BLACK BARS, check your monitor settings itself (i.e the buttons on the monitor itself) and see if there is a fill resolution for your monitor. Mine, a BenQ 240hz monitor, was set to 1:1 ratio and changing it to Fill fixed up all of my issues.

if you are trying to use 1080x1080, i found a solution, at first you will have blackbars even doing this.
here is what i did -> Disable monitors, have your desktop resolution to 1920x1080, Apply a custom resolution, either 1568 x1080 or 1440x993, Get into valorant, press alt-enter 2 times, after you done this, the game should be stretched without any issues on one of the two resolutions, if it doesnt work, make sure you are on 'fill' .
After this, change your desktop resolution to 1080x1080, and you should have the stretch resolution ^^

in short: disable monitors -> native -> 1568x1080 / 1440x993 -> valorant-> fill-> alt enter 1/2 times untill stretched -> switch to 1080x1080

Genuinely hate riot, hated them since all their new bullshit with league. Been playing valorant since beta along with every other fps game at 4:3, started off doing it on my laptop for fps and now for aesthetics, it’s not an exploit.

im so confused. the game has 4:3 resolution options for me as is and it doesn't impact my visibility, I've run tests. why is this a thing??? it's a resolution setting!!!!

Is there a way so that only my ingame res changes and not my desktops, its really a bother turning it on and off before playing
