“If you steal, do not steal too much at a time. You may be arrested. Steal cleverly, little by little.”

Definitely need a Patrice Lumumba and even a Moïse Tshombe biography. Pierre Mulele was an interesting figure as well, former education minister and Maoist who met a brutal end

Please make a video on Patrice Lumumba, not enough people know his story.

Someone who’d be great for a People Profile is Christopher Lee, the actor with an early life just as impressive as his film resumes

He was a mad man and sadly his madness can still be seen on some of the African leaders

I am almost Phd level in Congolese history, have visited the country...but every time I watch am still intrigued, disturbed and wonder if there's not more than a spiritual jinx to the Congolese debacle, isn't this why half a century later everyone, because of the complexity goes back to Conrad's really 'simplistic' assessment; that whatever happens/whatever spirit runs the Congo, is the heart of darkness? I am almost accepting that the spell binding the Congo in strife is undoable!

This feels like a highly appropriate documentary to come out at the time of our recent and blatantly rigged elections in the RSA...
"Giving cattle herds to people who couldn't tell a bull from a cow" is also such an on point remark for much of the continent.
It seems as though most African countries share the story of the Congo to a greater or lesser extent: Raped, bled and brutalized from both the outside and the inside with equal rapaciousness.
As for Mobutu himself, I suspect he cared for his country with all the depth of love that a narcissistic serial rapist feels for their victims.

A takeaway from this documentary and many others I've watched, on Africa, is the west must be kicked out of AFRICA.

The Congo was better off with Patrice
Lumumba. Now look at it, a mess

The correct title for this documentary should be "The Plunder of Congo by Western Powers!"

He was a self serving opportunist and a dishonest coward without a backbone or vision and principle of his own.. He was the type to sell his mother if it serves his personal interest.. I hate the way he backstabbed Lamumba😢
