MAS Performance 2.0 Duratec valve clearance check

Duratec use a solid lifter design rather than a hydraulic lifter where a zero valve clearance is maintained. That being said solid lifters can rev higher than hydraulic and are more reliable but require more maintenance inspections and ultimately time consuming but very rewarding when it’s set bang in the nominal value.

Hi - do you know which Haynes manual covers this engine or did you get the clearances from elsewhere? I cannot find standard clearances or camshaft cap torque specs, tightening sequence etc online.

Hi great informative video. Is it possible to change the buckets easily or is it front cover off and cams out and require retiming?

hi i have a mk4 mondeo 2.0 duratec that's done 162k miles and wonder if I should have the valves checked. I know from previous petrol engines that they can tighten up with mileage. she drives nice enough but there's a slight pink when you open her up but it's not like you get with carbon build up as it doesn't do it all the time. I get around 35.2mpg which is pretty much what fomoco state so it's pretty good, better than my old mk3 which was lighter.

nice video, thanks.
just about to be going through this process myself.
any idea if the clearance tolerance remains the same with upgrade cams, i.e 210bhp. id assume so I think the clearance is down purely thermal expansion.

Hi, brilliant video. I have this engine in my Ford Fiesta ST. I’m I. The process of a engine strip with new cams, chain kit, valves, springs etc. I’ve looked all over the internet for the spec of what the gap between the bucket and cam should be. (Do you have a link)
Also, where do you find the sizes of the new buckets (all the N numbers you have wrote down) so I can work out what I need to buy? Any help would be great. Thanks
