On my 2003 and 2007 Focus, I've gone through 5 engine mounts so I can vouch for #2. The 2003 also had the ignition core go out. 2007 had a bad alternator too, so I'd say this video is spot on!

I just bought a 2007 Focus with 175k miles and it shakes like nobody's business. This video was so helpful, just ordered the motor mount and transmission mount kit from 1A, looks easy enough to install!

I have a 23 year old 1.6 Ford Focus manual. 181000 on the clock. Still has the original alternator, water pump and radiator. Never had any problems with keys in locks, electric windows and no engine warning light on. It's a great car.

As someone who has owned a 2002 Ford Focus for 10 years, these issues are all too accurate. I’ve replaced everything mentioned at least once.

Great video

Our 2007 focus 3dr hatchback has been a great running car.
We purchased it used in 2009 with just under 40k miles it currently has 133k.
Normal Maintenance has been front and rear brakes, rotors, drums, tires, ac top off, oil changes, and coolant flush.
I have replaced the driver door locking actuator, both lower control arms due to deteriorating bushings, a muffler.
I save a lot of money by doing all of the repairs myself.

Great video! NYer here. I have a 2001 hatchback Zx3 with 262, 500 miles. MANUAL transmission. It's still going strong. It has the window regulator issue on the passenger side, but it hasnt completely stopped working yet. Today I couldn't get the key to turn. It took me about 15mins and 3 dozen attempts to get it cranked over. It also has that bogging out issue with fuel pump. Other than that very reliable car and fun to drive.

Key stuck in the ignition fix. Below shifting knob is a plastic tube running down through the console. Gently pull up on that tube and release. Problem solved. Worked for me and hasn't happened again in over a year. Love your tutorials. Thank You.

It seems the Focus is a good car if the only things you have to worry about are these common issues. Seems the engine lasts a long time.

HAHAHAHA! I just bought a 2005 focus for $500, I swear it has at least 3 of these issues. We'll be in touch...

I love this site. Number one...he keeps it brief. Most go on and on and there are more ah's and ugh's than spoken words. Video quality is excellent, you can watch the repair and see what is going on, so many don't cover the entire process because the camera light source is not enough. I trust what I can see as it is being explained or performed at the same time. I go to this site first, always.

Have not had any of those issues with my 2007 Focus.
Most bothersome issue is wheel bearings: Have done 3 wheels so far.
Next is oil in spark plug wells, so replace cam cover gasket.
That's about it. Still going strong right now with 123K miles on it.

Yeah my motor mount was replaced right away. My drivers window was also repaired. I have a 2000 Ford Focus. The car runs great at 20 years young.

I absolutely love you all for helping me to be able to figure problems out. I just bought a 2007 Ford Focus 163, 000m for a $1, 000. First things I notice is there's no defrost and the windshield wipers don't work. I hope I paid a good price. Oh and engine light is on so I'm trying to get that to turn off before I even go to inspection.

I just recently got a 2002 ZX5 from a police auction with 206k miles for $910 and MANUAL TRANSMISSION which is the MAIN REASON I got it (they are getting HARDER to find). The key thing is something that I did have a problem with from the get go, I lubed EVERYTHING possible that may not been done in GOD KNOWS HOW LONG. The oil was quite clean and SURPRISINGLY everything important appears to work ok even the cruse control.😯😁 It RUNS PRETTY GOOD, have to restrain myself from ZOOM ZOOMING to much because it RUNS SO WELL especially because of the manual transmission. It actually handles pretty good as well, need to replace the tires in the reasonable future because when it rains and if I'm speeding a little it does slide a little but not too much but enough to keep me from pushing it too hard in the RAIN. It holds the road GREAT when the road is DRY. IT HAS PUT THE FUN BACK INTO JUST NORMAL EVERYDAY DRIVING.😄👍😎

Thanks 1A Auto, i love watching your videos! Im a woman and all these videos are very helpful for me, when it comes to fixing my car!

09 Focus over here. I've put the original 54k miles on it. I hope it lasts forever! Everything is original on the car except the transmission fluid, engine oil, tires, motor mounts and AC evap. It's a good reliable car so far.

Hi, I've had my ford focus zetec mk1 hatchback for 11years now in England, and I've had no problems at all with the issues you've mentioned, I must have got a really good one when it was built in 2004, but thankyou for the video, at least I'll keep and eye out for any of these problems, should they arise, I watch all your other videos, they are very informative and you make them easy to follow, so keep up the good work,
