It hits hard when you realise you never used to be this way. Always took everything positively. Now you just stand there helpless and all you want to do now is to rip yourselves apart!

The worst thing about depression is that so many people don't understand what is going on with you. They think you're just being lazy because you can't muster up the will to get out of bed sometimes. Your loved ones become (rightfully) frustrated when they have to start giving you money because you are so depressed you can't even hold a job. They respond with anger and begin yelling at you and saying "you gotta do something to get your act together right now" etc. If we could just do "something" to get rid of our depression in an instant I assure you we sure as hell would do it. It's that lack of understanding by people who have never suffered from depression before who think they're helping depressed people find motivation by yelling at them to get their act together etc, when all they are actually doing is making it worse.

Love how they list all the things I’ve already tried. Like the most basic shit. It’s not that easy

Atleast I'm not alone. Lots of people are having MDD. We will fight this out. Believe in yourself. Just hold it tight.

Praying for every one of you reading this right now. Know that you’re not alone in this at all. We are all here in support of each other. Everyone here has a different circumstance that brought them here today. I’m 50 yrs old and have lived alone most of my adult life. Even if you’re reading this posting a year or 3 years after it was written, know that we are all still in this with you today! Simply reaching out to others in a chat forum like this can possibly bring about a conversation that may very well bring the insight you’ve needed all this time, or you may very well provide the very words of encouragement or wisdom that could change the trajectory of someone else’s dead end feeling. So please, don’t just wallow in your circumstance, but instead reach out to some complete stranger in this chat room or another and offer up your support and wisdom. It will bless them and you as well.

I’m writing this hoping to reach someone. I’ve been dealing with a depression on and off. My issues are often a low desire to want to live. I feel like I’m living for the sanity of my family. My job isn’t rewarding. But I have many things to be thankful for. Can anyone relate? I am seeking comfort for people who can relate. I’m quite tired of this cycle.

I pray a lot and do positive affirmations and keep a todo list and it has helped me quite a bit. I still feel depressed but it doesn’t consume me like it used to. Working out, going for walks, and trying new things has also helped. I even try to set goals for different things so that I have something to look forward to and I just think about my goals whenever I feel hopeless and know that it won’t always be this way.

Psilocybin containing mushrooms saved my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit. It has also helped me survive depression.

I’ve been on all kinds of meds for 20 years and none of it has worked. I’m 36 and I just don’t care about anything. I’m exhausted all the time. I wish so badly that I could have motivation and the ability to live a normal life. I’m still single and I have a hard time taking care of myself.

I just got diagnosed with MDD and while I knew I was depressed, I didn’t think it was MDD. It was a real wake-up call. I’m glad I finally know.

The book "30 Days to Reduce Depression" by Harper Daniels uses a mindfulness approach. Share it! It can really help someone. Mindfulness is like a personal trainer for the mind.
