Super quick fix that hung me up the first time I tried to connect my laser to LightBurn Software. I must have spent 30 minutes trying to solve it until I noticed the dropdown menu showing the COM ports.

Laser Safety Disclaimer:

Welcome to Hobby Laser Machine! Prior to engaging with any laser equipment featured on this channel, it's crucial to prioritize safety. Laser devices, including the diode laser showcased in our videos, emit powerful light beams that can cause harm if not handled properly.

Protective Gear: Always wear appropriate protective gear, including laser safety glasses, when operating a laser machine. These glasses are designed to shield your eyes from potentially harmful laser radiation.

Controlled Environment: Operate your laser machine in a controlled environment, away from distractions and with adequate ventilation. Ensure the workspace is clear of flammable materials and other hazards.

Supervision: If you're new to laser technology, seek guidance from experienced users or professionals. Supervision is essential, especially when learning to use laser equipment for the first time.

Read Manuals: Familiarize yourself with the user manual and safety instructions provided by the manufacturer of your laser machine. Follow all guidelines meticulously to prevent accidents and ensure safe operation.

Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the laser machine and the workspace during operation. Accidental exposure to laser beams can cause serious injury.

Emergency Procedures: Have emergency procedures in place in case of accidents or malfunctions. Know how to shut down the laser machine quickly and have a first-aid kit readily available.

Alright so I was having an issue with this and I did the extreme and made a new instance of windows via dual booting to make sure I had a fresh instance of Windows.

I have tried things like manually assigning the COM port of the device (this is done if the user has an issue where one com port is shared between 2 devices) and that wasn't the issue.

Turns out I was using the wrong physical port on my laser. My laser has multiple usb c ports but they all serve a different purpose where one port serves as a way to update the laser firmware, another port for the sd reader firmware, etc.

I put the usb in the right port and it worked instantly. This wasnt mentioned in my manual at all, I am using the creality laser engraver.

I got a CO2 Gweike Cloud laser i just purchased, after installing my device to light burn I could move the laser head, do framing, but when hitting the start button laser won’t fire. On windows do i have to install a driver of some sort? Light burn or the laser itself is throwing an error code saying my Laser is to close and will hit the material, but I adjusted it and it still won’t fire. I would appreciate a feed back, thanks for the video.

The problem is that no matter how I do it., when I connect the usb or simply press the on/off toggle the same chime when usb connects to window doesn't appear, it's like there are no reaction at all, I thought my usb port is the culprit but even trying with different ports and even a whole different window doesn't work

You have Windows. I have Mac. I don't have "com6" to select. I have Auto and Bluetooth incoming port. Which my laser is not bluetooth capable.

Hi I grabbed the latest driver for it... my laser was originally trying to use com3, wouldn't connect giving an error message saying access denied to com port, so I changed the port it used to com port 6, still won't connect... I am on a windows 11 pc, I was trying to use it in grbl and in lightburn but still not recognizing it. thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

Though I changed nothing from the day before, I had to change comm ports and then I was able to connect.

I have A AtomStack A20 PRO and I can't connect it to lightburn software, the options that you show us in the video don't appear to me, and it appears that my laser engraver is disconnected, don't you know why that happens? Thank you
