Still using the Scag V-Ride 2? If so any issues in the last 2 years? I am looking at purchasing one.

I demo'd the Scag V-Ride II, Ferris SRS Z2, Gravely Pro-Stance, and Kubota SZ26-52 last fall, all equipped with 52" decks. The Scag V-ride II I demo'd was a 2017 model. I found the traction to be
the worst of all four mowers and the controls of the pump-and-motor hydros were also EXTREMELY touchy. The Kawasaki FX engine appeared under-powered as well, constantly bogging. It's possible the dealer simply didn't have it configured properly, I did not check engine RPM. Gas could have been old as well, or the carb gummy since it was a '17 model that had been sitting for three years. Have you had any issues with the Scag leaving overly long grass clippings?

The Ferris SRS Z2 was my favorite due to the adjustable platform suspension and control "throw", cut quality and striping ability on our Michigan grasses, and the free-wheeling inside tire on turns. Couldn't find any solid deals on used Ferris standers, so ended up purchasing two (used) Gravely Pro-Stances, which were my second choice of the four makes I demo'd due to the smoothness of the controls, adjustable deck baffling for various cutting conditions, and their unique foot-operated deck lift which enables you to avoid scalping.

Have you had a chance to try the Ferris SRS Z2/Z3X standers yet?

I ran 2 trucks for the last company I worked for in landscaping, one was a 6.4 diesel and the other was a v10 gaser. It was just me running around in each truck but I liked the V10 gasser, less problems and it was a regular cab long bed 1ton 4x4

I bought the 61 with the fuel injected Briggs and it is hands down the best business decision I’ve made, it’ll hold a wet hill here in east TN, so I wonder if it’s just the 52 and smaller

Great review on Scag mower, I'm interested on buying one of those next year, but, you said they are not good on hills, I'm asking because I live in Massachusetts and the terrain here is very hilly,

I bought a new Grandstand this year. I have around 75 hours on it. No complaints, been a really good mower.

I'd call your dealer on the second vride sometimes if you buy a second within a year you can get the fleet discount. Which in turn could give you a additional year fleet discount for the 61 or 32 whichever you buy first.

Does scag makena tweel? I have heard they have more ground contact which in turn would hold hills better than a tire with air. Just a thought. Bummer on truck, what about looking outside your area?

I was just thinking a couple videos ago that the 36 inch exmark you sold to Roscoe would be a great mower to make your fleet complete. We are probably picking up a stander next year and trying to decide between the Scag or Toro.

What's going on Randy. I was using Lawn Pro software, but even though I paid for the lifetime version I've been throttled down to the free version so I'm looking at Yardbook. I have 63 clients/solo op/. Looking to bump it up to 85 next season, what are your thoughts on Yardbook, pros vs cons or any thoughts. Thanks

Wider tyres puts too much stress on the hydrostatics, apparently. There’s a seat you can get too. Look at Catch Pro

I think I’m going to add a stander to the fleet next season, this year I’ve been in the saddle to long and its put out a couple of ribs more than once, the Scag is looking very inviting!

I think I'm gonna be doing the same. I made the same decision on mower purchases, regret it and thinking of going the same route at the end if this season. The vride2 upgrade now has me thinking of one for the new seas on and better efficiency. I feel defeated with my poor purchase decision.
