Today we had our local Pace rep drop off the brand new Scag V Ride 2 for Demo! I have been eagerly awaiting getting to test out some products from Scag lawn mowers and it finally came together.

I reached out to the folks at Scag last fall to line up a demo, so I could weigh in and test out the Scag V Ride 2 and the Scag Turf Tiger 2 on our channel. Lot of you guys know I enjoy using my Exmark's, but I wanted to see what all the hype was about with the Scag V Ride 2!

We met up with Michael and Rich and did a full walk around, signed the paper work, and got to get some initial tests on Michaels property. We really enjoyed our first initial uses and impressions with the Scag V Ride 2! I can see why you guys like this one!

Stay tuned for a part 2 and 3 this week as we put her to the test and capture a bunch of footage with us mowing, and then my final review/thoughts on the mower by the end of the week!

Do you guys like the Scag V Ride 2? What's your guys experience with Scag been like so far? Leave me a comment down below!

This was exactly the video I was looking for. I ride a 61” Cheetah for a large volunteer mowing job I do. At some point before retirement I’m looking at starting a residential mowing company and I’ve been looking for a demo video of this rider. We beat the Cheetah up really hard mowing 55 of 110 acres and that mower keeps working along with fairly minimal issues. When I start my lawn mowing business this unit next to the trailer and truck will be one of the most important purchases to get right the first time. More Scag, ExMark, Walker mower reviews, also appreciate the reviews of blowers and other key equipment.

You earned a subscriber off this video and your other blower review videos. Thanks for keeping the reviews about the machines and less about personal bias or things that have nothing to do with the machines.

Scag v-ride 1 in the 52 and 61. The 61 is amazing 11 mph forward and 6 in reverse!!! The reverse is amazing fir whipping around. The velocity deck is amazing and a life saver in wet spring conditions

We run tiger cats and a tiger cat 2. Down here in the south, the bahia grass is rough on blades. When bahia comes out, we will change blades 2 or even 3 times in a day to keep from stringing. We use an impact wrench and a simple floor jack and can do it in about 5 min. The exhaust placement on that would make changing mid day rough if it doesn't have time to cool.

Nice video! I run a exmark 60” and a radius 44” for the smaller lawns, thinking about a v ride2 next year, looks like they stripe nice ! People I’ve talked to say they handle the wet / tall grass better then anything. ( it’s a lot of money though )lol . Happy mowing!

I mow mostly small and mid size residential and run a walker. No discharged grass on sidewalks, driveways, etc. If I had some large accounts though or commercial accounts where presentation wasn’t so critical I wouldn’t definitely consider one of these mowers.

The new v2 is almost an exact copy from the wrights, so if you like one you should like the other(there is a reason they copied so much of the wrights because they had it right). Id get the v2 over the 1 hands down. The biggest thing is making sure you have a solid support from the dealer! Ive heard of a few people that werent happy with the support they got from scag fwiw, ymmv.

Ive used both scag and wright but use wright now so i just kept with them got me a new 48 I gotta pick up. The one thing any company should do is add a dam ocdc built in! (even if its just a piece of flat stock that moves up and down to close the chute)

I love the design of them so im sure you will really enjoy getting to use it, put it on some hills and really test its limits you will be surprised how much better they hold imo.

Thanks for the video. I use Scag and they are great machines. The Scag rep mentioned that you lean more into this machine with the 2 vs the 1. I have the Scag VRide 1, I was noticing the difference for taller operators, if you noticed having to bend over a little when riding partcularly with the different lean into the machine design. I'm 6'2. Looks like taller operators would be more comfortable standing straight up. Wanted to know after several hours of operation if you prefer leaning in or standing upright. Thanks.

Brain, one more thing about the Toro. The grandstand has the ability to take attachments, like a boss snowplow, a broom, and more. The Grandstand has a 60 inch deck, and a 52, if I'm not mistaken. Whatever the case, the plow and broom can be extremely useful during the winter. Either one is great, but you may want to consider a Toro.

I Love my V-Ride 48 edition 1, nice review of version 2. I like the new operator safety switch, some guys disable it from the handle on version 1. It's a fast mower with a superb cut & pretty good on slopes. I've used it on a 20 degree grade & it cuts like butta

We bought a tiger cat II last year and thinking about getting a new v ride this year. Would like a 36 inch but doesn’t have the velocity deck.

I have the VR2 32 inch I have about 17 residential properties that we do and it’s perfect for those small gates. It’s the only stand up that has a floating deck I can find gravely and Wright both are fixed

I agree velocity has the beat cut. But gotta give SCAG credit for their hydro pump as well. Awesome control and power- smooth. And they never give you an engine thats under hp for the machine. I buy a new one they last a decade before i have to replace anything. Still running my vride 1 and got a 2.

I have a Scag V1 48in. Before starting my business, I worked for a guy that swore on Scag to be the best. I’ve had it for 3 seasons and put about 300 hours on it. The first year both axels came loose from the motors and damaged both rims.(under warranty) Then the hour meter stopped working and took 3 computers later to get one that worked. Year two the carburetor went with 180 hours on it.
I was told that at the factory they use torque guns similar to a auto garage, not industrial guns that torque properly. To add, a deck bolt came loose season 3.
Besides the poor manufacturing, I like my Scag. It’s fast and cuts nicely.
I’m conflicted to buy another. I’m trying to convince myself that I got a lemon.
