There is a hidden gem called Maize. Is a new modern Mexican restaunt with prehispanic influences. Check out their insect section. But they also have delicous mexican food. Their corn is nixtamalized. Which makes the tortillas easier to digest

Killens is absolutely not the second best in the US, at one time it was, but it is no longer as of a few years ago.

Rogels, Pinkerton's, Tejas Chocolate and Bbq, pit room, all blow killens out of the water by a LONG shot.

What killens has is the local Houston name.
