Notion’s Wiki feature combines the flexibility of pages with the structure of databases. That makes them extraordinarily useful, but an overlooked capability of Wikis makes them especially powerful.

Let's explore the fundamentals of Notion Wikis, then see how to maximize that special capability.

This is a video about Notion's Wiki Feature: An Overlooked Superpower

This is helpful! Explained succinctly yet effectively! Thank you!

I’m not a Notion expert but I understand it enough to appreciate the benefits of using the Wiki functionality to manage the entire systems databases and data. I’ve created a copy of the workspace just to play around with it but can’t help the feeling that after converting it, I might be in for a number of “unintended consequences”! I also noticed that there’s an “Undo Wiki” command available as well; can’t be sure it ‘unfurls’ the entire procedure and returns it cleanly with everything intact (!) 😅

Hey William! Thanks for the awesome videos. Short question: Is there a way for wiki subpages to inherit properties from the parent pages? Eg. when I use /page on a wiki page, I want the child to have the same relations to other dbs as the parent.

Much appreciated,
Sven

Thanks for the sharing. I am little bit confused about the last part about creating blueprint inside the Resources. Then, you create another page called Blueprint beside Resources. What is the difference then by creating another pages that does not link to each other?

Hay man, thanks for the tutorial! Not sure if Notion has changed the functionality since you posted this a year ago, though it seems you can now add full-page databases to a wiki after the fact by simply creating a new full-page database from the wiki 'home'. Maybe im missing something but wanted to share and hear your thoughts.

Possibly the most confusing video ever!

So the limitation of not being able to bring database into existing wiki is not true anymore no? I created a test wiki and I can do it. Can also create a new database within the wiki. Am I missing anything?

Hi, is there any reason I wouldn't store all my databases in a page outside the wiki and then just use database views within the wiki when required? In fact in general I have been taking this approach to reduce the chance of accidental database deletion. Have I got this the wrong way around?

Is there an easy way to move content across from the "classical" structure into a Wiki structure? Your setup suggests I would have to move datasets manually into the new databases created from duplicating the respective database blueprints. This would also mean recreating all database relationships, correct?

I was able to follow your set up and create the wiki in wiki! I was trying to get the tertiary page related back to home but I couldnt get it to work! For example, my structure is (home) > Product Resources>tertiary page. My goal would be to have the home page with "product resources" or secondary category with tertiary page in it's column- help! Ive gone down a rabbit help lol

is it possible if i set an automation that removes the verification mark when somebody adds more content to a verified document?

For some reason I am still not understanding the last part about databases within wikis. I wondered if I would regret moving things into the wiki or not, and now I am worried I made a big mistake. 😩

Does Notion do dates yet? When I tried it last, you could NOT schedule a task for "Every Tuesday." And you certainly couldn't schedule tasks for "The third Tuesday of the month." You couldn't even schedule a task for the 5th of every month. For a program that is supposed to be all about organizing your life, this was an unacceptable lapse. And in spite of years of user requests, Notion hadn't even attempted to address this when last I checked. I'm wondering if they have fixed the problem. (I'll check on their home page, but the algo likes comments -- especially long ones.)
