when the 16 inch m1 comes out I'm definitely getting it. When all the apps get updated it's gonna be amazing

i have the M1 mac and produce with ableton as well. its not perfect right now, but once ableton gets optimized for the M1 chip, its gonna EASILY blow every other laptop out of the water in pretty much every way. im not exaggerating, its that good.

a little feedback: i find the amount of cuts in this video distracting.

It’s worth mentioning that widely used vsts, such as Fabfilter, Serum, Ozone 9, Valhalla support the m1 natively, and a lot of stuff runs with Rosetta 2. With the latest version of Big Sur I even didn’t have to install a driver for my new audient id44 Interface. I remember times when missing drivers for my audio interfaces made it impossible to upgrade to later software.

Hi master, can you remake this comparison using ableton beta 11.1 m1 build?

The fact that even the regular MacBook Air and Mac mini has just about the same performance, Apple literally made the best computers to make music and I love it

I’ve been putting the m1 through its paces with ableton and I have had few issues! Unless it’s a comically large project file, it runs perfectly. Live 11 in particular. No fan noise is a huge +

Wait until Ableton can run without rosetta, it will blow your 16 away

I got the 265GB 8G ram version of the pro for a dedicated audio production machine. But between the rediculously good battery life and the fact that a few important phone apps for work runs on it, it suddenly became my work PC as well as my audio prod. PC. 😀

Thoughts on getting an M1 MacBook vs waiting for an M1X MacBook later in the year? I’m torn!

Hi. So i'm thinking on buying a Mac Mini M1 for using Ableton live 10, but I'm not sure if it'll be the right choice since I don't know if any of my go-to plugins are available on that system, these are the plugins I intend to use: U-he Tyrell n6, PG 8X, Surge, Valhalla vintage reverb, Izotope Vinyl, Spitfire Audio Labs, Wider, Serum. Has someone had experiences with any of these plugins on a M1 Mac so far? Also i've read that the best way to do it is by using Rosetta 2, but i've read that Rosetta can damage the ssd of an M1 so i don't know what to do. Also idk if the compatibility problems have to be with m1 or the OS big sur. Any help would be appreciated

Ableton will already be working on making Live M1 compliant.

Would m1 macbook air be good enough for hiphop music producing, mixing, recording, and mastering?

It's gonna be a long wait till you can run everything native, even if Ableton live is native you can't mix rosetta plugins within a native app as far as I know.
