I'm haing some trouble following this process. When you added the Texture coodinate node and ctrl shift left click, it seems to add a viewer node above your material output that connects to the surface. This doesn't happen for me automatically and I can't seem to find a viewer node to add it manually. You make no mention of this, yet it seems to be an intergral part of the shader. Am I missing something obvious here?
