I'm an very older woman now, but back in my 20s I had a boyfriend who I was sleeping with and we were having difficulties in our relationship...
I always had loved God, and I cried out to Him every night because I was in constant turmoil and tormented.
I would pray in tears, "O God, please help me!" Over and over I would plead with the Lord every night on my bed in tears.
He would ALWAYS answer me in my spirit and say the same thing to me every time,
"I can't until you stop sleeping with him"
I in turn would always say,
"I'm not ready to give that up"
This went on and on until one day I agreed to God's terms.
After that The Lord gave me the strength to end the relationship and that's when I started walking with the Lord.
It's on God's terms, not ours!

I am a straight woman and a Christian. I’ve given this issue a lot of thought and have a comment many could disagree with. We are ALL sinners, no one among us can claim to be sinless. I thought to myself, so many people reject Christ and His teachings until the Holy Spirit places a desire in our hearts to want Jesus in their life. I was raised Catholic and when I was a teenager, I ran from the Catholic Church. One day, in my 20s, I met a lady who had such a wonderful glow about her. Long story short, I went to her Baptist Church and my gosh! I was overwhelmed by God’s spirit and it became so clear to me I needed and wanted to be saved. And I went forth, gave Christ my heart and was baptized for real. Not like I was as an infant. Here’s my point: in SOME cases, could not the Spirit be calling them? Remember Paul. Couldn’t their curiosity about being a Christian be sparked and they don’t really know why? But something is calling them. I think that could be the case for SOME of the gays who step foot in church. How do we say to them, “Get out! You’re an abomination!” I would welcome a gay man or woman coming to my church and just SEE if they are truly searching for Jesus. I HAVE heard of a gay person changing when they become born again! Now…if they insisted they want to be gay and bring their lover, etc, etc, the Pastor should have a talk with them. God’s Word stands. But don’t you think churches throughout this country would be echoing with emptiness if we stand so self righteous? Sounds like a Pharisee to me. “If you seek Me with all your heart you will find Me. “Who among you is without sin? Jesus said, “Anyone here who is without sin, let them cast the first stone.” We should PRAY for the gay person who dares come to a Bible believing church. Welcome them and let them witness God’s love for them through our ACTIONS. And wait upon the Spirit. Thanks for listening to my thoughts.
