There’s a distinction between the “Old Testament” and the “Old Covenant”. Of course as gentiles we aren’t under the “old covenant”, but in the OT we find history, the character and person of God, and even within the Law we can discover principles and precepts that are true for the Jew and the gentile… even if we can still eat bacon.

That is some serious and poor editing. Called manipulation. Let the man speak and make his point rather than chopping and rearranging all his words. Andy makes a very important point. The resurrection came before the "church". The resurrection is the reason there is a church. The resurrection came before the New Testament. The New Testament is the story of the resurrection and the early "church". The resurrection is the foundation of our faith.

I wonder which book Andy Stanley is reading. It's obviously not God's word. If mr. Stanley was to read Luke 24:46, Matthew 16:21, and 1st Corinthians 15:4 and still say that the resurrection is not in the Bible, then he would have to ask himself this question. If the resurrection wasn't true, would the disciples, and the apostles really run the risk of losing their life proclaiming the resurrection if it were a lie?
