2022 Ford Maverick XLT: Is This Really A Truck?

Today I drive and review a 2022 Ford Maverick XLT!

I think it’s great for someone who doesn’t want a full-size truck and can get by with a smaller vehicle plus you’re saving quite a few bucks… I think this truck will satisfy the needs of quite a few people in this country….

This "little" truck has more horsepower than a lot of V8 trucks had from 1990-2010. The 2.0L version has more horsepower than my 07 V8 SuperCrew XLT F150. The way vehicles are made and operate has changed the last few decades. Vehicles no longer have to be huge with massive engines to be useful. Not to mention the 3 best selling vehicles in the US are all full sized trucks, and 90% of the ones that your average consumer buys just gets driven on nice pavement and they dont want to haul anything because it might scratch up the bed. Lmfao. Trucks like the Mav have been much needed lately.

I went to a ford dealership to look at one and they had a lariat with FX 4 package mark up to $45, 000 not cool the price should have been around $36, 000

Just ordered one :) cactus gray too! Love it. I own a F350 and need a smaller vehicle to save gas especially now. Still need the F350 to work but the hybrid maverick will be great to drive around

My window sticker download shows warranties no reviewer I have seen talk about - 5yr/60k roadside and 8yr/100k hybrid components. So I guess no worries about the battery or cvt for a lot longer than I thought.

Not my style, however, its good that there are trucks that suit everyone's needs. Everyone is different and this is good for someone who wants a truck on a smaller scale. 💯

Drove up to visit my son in Atlanta in my 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman from SW Fla. on Dec 3rd. Been having oil lamp issues turning on and off for about a year in that car with a couple repairs (in vain). The day after arriving in Atlanta, in addition to the oil lamp issues, the ENGINE light came on! I KNEW this wasn't good, so IMMEDIATELY began looking into a new vehicle to get me safely back home. I thought of Carvana buying me out of my Countryman, but I needed a vehicle sooner than later. My son scrolled through many vehicles and noticed a 2022 Ford Maverick XLT (actually still ON THE LOT)!! We called to make sure it wasn't a bait and switch advertisement to get us in there. The salesman pulled the key for us during the call, so we could test drive it once we arrived an hour away to Buford, GA. The story was, there was a guy who ordered the Maverick back in January 2022. He got tired of waiting, so he purchased another vehicle. The Maverick he waited for so long, arrived on the lot THE DAY AFTER his purchase on Dec. 3rd!! Luckily, it was still there on the 4th, when I arrived! I was ELATED things turned out the way it did. I absolutely LOVE MY 2022 MARVERICK!!
