Fuck that's a clean job. Great to see someone take this level of pride in their work.

The attention to spacing, evenly cut ends, and backfilled screw holes were those extra steps needed to set your work apart from the rest. Good job dude!

Bro, yes. This is how it’s done. Great job on being so attentive to the details because they absolutely DO matter! Thank you for sharing brother!

My father and I did his deck with that same composite decking material. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's incredibly easy to work with and very durable. No fading or warping and is good on the feet. It's very comfortable to walk on so long as it's clean, and there's hardly any slip when wet. I'll admit that it heats up pretty good in the sun, but I have a hose right there, so I usually just hit it with some water to cool it down if I'm barefoot. But that's what also keeps it clean, so no harm, no foul. It's 100% worth the extra money, especially if you're a "do it once. Do it right" type of person.

Yes sir, the trimmed bush makes your deck look bigger.

It looks really good.
However, I've installed this on quite a few decks, and I will tell you that while you spaced the boards perfectly, those ends that you butted up the triangle pieces will pop up on the edges where you butted them against the other piece. You still need spacing on all joints.

Looks great but that dark composite surface will burn your feet in the hot sun. My brother installed one last year and now he hates it. Something to consider especially if there is no shade over the deck area.

For everyone in here making claims about hidden fasteners, it depends on where you are building the deck. They are not recommended for areas with heavy winds/storms, lake/water front Gulf Coast region or even areas that have a high freeze/thaw swell. They aren't very secure unless the deck is in a relatively calm environment.

"Sir, were all done. That'll be $34, 110 for your 21x20 square deck."

Gorgeous.
We replaced our rotted dilapidated rust coloured 70’s colour painted wooden deck with a charcoal Trex composite several years ago. It was expensive, but worth every penny. Saving a bundle by doing it yourself is a bonus despite the work. To say it was a beast is putting it mildly. It did collect algae over the winter, but a pressure wash made it look like new. As our deck was quite far off the ground, we added an aluminum railing with glass sections. I think composite is great….recycling plastics, saving wood, durable and long lasting without backbreaking maintenance!!👍🏻
Oh yes…as another commenter pointed out, it gets extremely hot in the sun….but just wear shoes!!😉

Looks great! I would have chosen to cut the long ones in the middle and extend it there, instead of the small corner extensions.

I hate composite decking. We installed that for a client in their back patio. As we were laying the boards down to attach to the base, our knees started burning when the sun was starting to reach peak temperature. Got some kneepads to solve that issue but was afraid to lay my hands or forearms on it because it became unbearably hot. By the end of the day my shoes’ soles melted. Screw that crap. You’ll all find out the hard way. Stick to wood and seal it.

I had a friend who had that decking. Beautiful but slippery as hell

typically when your boards are too short for the picture frame i make sure the miters are nice and put a seam somewhere on a joist away from any stairs. this does use 1-2 extra boards depending on if it’s the front or the side of the deck but with some PVC glue and a 3/4” overhang on the front you won’t have any warping at the seam. either way, clever solution

Looks great. Blind fasteners would have saved you a lot of time. Timbertech’s are excellent. Still u must be pleased
