I lay out my clothes and make sure breakfast and lunch and coffee are made. I'm NOT a morning person and it could really cost me a lot of money or cause me to be late, if I didn't do this!

We go to bed 1h/1, 5h earlier then we r going to sleep, so we turn out the heat and the lights and listen in bed to a audio book instead of reading a regular book downstairs with the heat and the lights on. And its super cosy to lay in bed together and listen to a nice book, it makes you sleepy and relax.

I love what Larry said about taking time to being thankful.

In case you (like I) started listening while in bed and didn't have a pencil and notepad handy. ❤

1) track expenses
2) prep lunches for next day
3) read something useful
4) brush your teeth
5) wash your face
6) regulate thermostat
7) regular bed time
8) set alarm
9) turn off all lights

I pack my lunch, drinks, snacks the night before.
Lay out all my clothes. I also have a capsule wardrobe so choosing clothing takes about 3 min. Everything can be matched.
10 min of stretching/ yoga before bed.

I try to reset my kitchen every night so I’m ready to prepare breakfast, the coffee pot, etc. without worrying about finishing the dishes from the night before. I kept waiting for the kitchen elves to come in and do this, they never showed up.

Have water by the bed. When you sit up, hydrate with at least 8 oz of water before you do anything else.

Thanks Hope and Larry. I’ve got a few evening and bedtime rituals. Our energy is half price from 10.30-7.30 so we set our dishwasher and washing machine to run over night. Also, I might set my slow cooker to run over night, especially if I’m cooking pulses for the next day. In the winter, we ‘set’ the kitchen stove so it’s match ready in the morning. I’m a big believer of cleansing and moisturizing my face before bed, it helps my skin. I just use the products with no fragrance . I also look at my meal plan and see if anything needs to come out of the freezer to defrost. In the winter, we often go to bed much earlier, for example, if there’s a TV program we want to watch as we don’t need the heat and lights as we’ll watch it in bed. My favorite end of day, is to listen to the BBC’s ‘book at bedtime’. I often miss the end of the chapters as it always makes me fall asleep.

156 books last year and I am on 130 this year. I read mysteries, but I still learn a lot. New words, new ideas, etc. unfortunately I have to read on the kindle. Even large print books aren’t big enough.

When I was a child my Mama taught me to turn out the light as I left the room. I’m still doing this and think of her every time I flip a switch. 😇

We set a timer on our lamps and television sets. In the morming our tv (with its built in timer) comes on and a lamp in the living room (which we can see from the bedroom) also comes on. They both go off in 40mins, and we're dressed and having coffee in the kitchen by then. In the evenings a different lamp comes on at 5pm and turns off again at 10pm, and our bedroom tv (the one above) comes back on, signaling to us that it's time to go to bed and stop dilly-dallying! We use the KASA app on our phone to track energy usage on these items and adjust according to daylight cycles. It's helped us tremendously in enforcing good habits and making sure everything is turned off.

My mother was always reminding us to wash our faces before sleep! To this day I do that! Gina in lights

I would love to see a video about frugal ways to get your home ready for winter (for those of us that have cold winters). Keep up the good work!

Yes, I have blackout curtains and a blackout sleep mask for when I travel. Makes a huge difference.
One of my teachers was a big advocate of PTT: Plan Tomorrow Today. You don't have to wake up and figure out what you need to do. It's all on a prioritized list. I think that helps you sleep better, too, not worrying that you'll forget something important.
Thanks so much. Great video. I'm a new subscriber. Can see that I'll be binge-watching many of your episodes... 😁

Hi Hope and Larry. I do all of those frugal bedtime habits. My reading matter is always a spiritual book. I check not only the lights but doors and windows to ensure all are closed and locked, water faucets are turned off as well as the inlet on my gas stove.
If I am planning on doing errands the following day, I write them down, either in order of importance or furthermost from home to the nearest. I shower every night so that I am nice and cool to induce sleep. It's very hot in the Caribbean all year. Thanks
for all the suggestions.

I pull out the items I need to defrost for dinner the next night, or put the beans on to soak

I have read at least 60 books in the last 9 months on various topics. Sometimes, I have 3-5 books open during the day and spend 10 - 15 minutes reading as a break from housework or lawn care, exercise, or just dealing with life. If I may take some liberty with a few of your suggestions you made about bedtime habits, please consider the following. (1) Track your expenses early in the evening to avoid unnecessary anxiety before hittin' the hay. I am not saying to avoid the nightly ritual just make sure you have enough distance between tracking expenses and sleeping. I check my expenses every day just after supper time. (2) Reading something useful is a great idea, but experience has taught me to select calming material rather than a thriller. LOL (3) Washing your face not only opens the pores but washes away any particles of pollen that may cause allergies to worsen. I live in a wooded area and this is a battle with which I deal on a daily bases. Thanks again for gathering ideas about frugality and being concise---Ha Ha Ha-- I just realize you are frugal and concise in your presentations. You get more info. in your posts than other presenters I have watched on frugality. Love your programs! THANKS

I do most of the stuff that's mention in the video with the exception of book reading I watch YouTube and read stuff on line plus a I always drink green tea while taking my night walk summer and winter helps me sleep better. Since I wake up early I write my errands on paper in the morning when my brain is clear and fresh. I am glad that my frugal habits are confirmed by other frugal people
