Nobody was prepared when the tornado hit. Everyone crapped themselves. Hopefully they found shelters? Like hide underneath their tables.

scariest thing is when the wind and lighting set part of the school on fire from boilers and gas line and the staff don't know how to deal with it and half the kids inside and half outside! They finally brought them into the section of the school that didn't have any smoke. Teachers were panicking we were in the hallway and the janitor came up running "we have to get these kids out of here right now" the others saying we can't cause the tornado is right outside" and kids from my class were crying. It really felt like the end of the world that was all over in probably less then 5 minutes but feels longer with adrenaline panic etc. This was in Ontario Canada in Waterloo. The tornado was about have a mile into the back woods towards Elmira behind the school fields. It was darker then night in the middle of the day with 4 to 6 inches of rain water on the ground and strobe lightning. Feel sorry for the kids in the portables, they tried to come in on the east end where the boiler gas line issue was going on. It was close to time to leave home I never saw what happened with it. Pretty frightening thing to go through as as little kid and opened my mind to the fact that these places really are ill prepared to deal with how these things turn out. If memory serves me correct lighting actually hit the boiler so things were smoking from the heat janitor didn't have the time to waste guessing that it wouldn't catch fire cause it probably could have especially if the gas line was leaking. Twisting metal from wind can also make sparks so I understand the concern if the tornado had gotten close enough or something.

I live in TX I used to live in new Braunfels Tx and one time In math there was a huge storm and then they let me and others call there parents to pick them up so me and my sisters got picked up and on are way we were like “oMG thErEs a ToRnAdO” as a joke for fun so we weren’t panicking, then it started hailing, flooding, and my dad caught a tornado over by a water tower, get this, WE WERE HOMELESS LIVING IN AN RV BECAUSE WE SOLD OUR HOUSE FOR ONE THAT WAS STILL BUILDING, are dogs and cats were scared my brother was at school because he only got rain and my mom was at work and her was bad to, we are in a car as all this is happening no shelter that we found, we all leave at 3:00 kids had to stay there till 7:00 p.m because there parents weren’t able to come, so we had to grab are back backs and hide together as my dad was driving, #traumatizing😃

🤦‍♂INSANITY - Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results ~ Einstein. 1) Brand New school built in tornado alley with no more protection than school built in 1900, 2) hopefully students/staff were given a heads up - sirens - to seek shelter before damage was done.
