The book that broke the world is so good! I read it straight after the first one and loved it just as much! I would do anything for Ivar and Livira. The world, the characters and the story are all fantastically done and I can’t wait for the third book.

August is the Obon festival in Japan, so "spooky season" is already here in some parts of the world lol. I recommend The Noble Dead saga and Ariana Nash's Violent Desire books if you like vampires.
In August I want to read: A Thousand Autumns vol 5 (carryover from July), Husky & His White Cat Shizun vol 6, Remnants of Filth vol 4, Associste Professor Akira Takatsuki's Conjecture vol 2-4, Onmyoji & the Tengu Eyes vol 3, Toshiden vol 1, and we'll see what else I can knock off my TBR. Some of the books I was planning for August I actually finished in July lol.

I recently read Where the Dark Stands Still and I LOVED it. I did listen to a lot of it on audiobook - which helps with some of the polish names and such that are used.

I have to say I am baffled considering August as Fall. Like, summer break and all those summer activities are in August😅 also that would mean that Spring starts in February.
I am very happy that you like the Winnowing Flame trilogy so far, it's one of my favourite series and I am currently reading this author's newest Fantasy book and also really enjoying it!

I was tempted to buy Where the Dark Stands Still because it's such a pretty book but what finally pushed me over the edge was when I realized it had slavic myth elements in it. Glad to hear others have liked it. I'm going to try to get to it this month.
