Zen 5 X3D vs Arrow Lake CPUs - Specs, Price, & Release Dates
Okay So yeah bulldoZen 5 is finally here and at least if you're a desktop user on Windows very very underwhelming to put it lightly However, the actual Zen 5 architecture is really good on paper So it has a lot of people scratching their head as to why this isn't Translating into desktop and gaming apps that most people would actually use on a day-to-day basis

I think a lot of this actually comes down to the severe bottleneck when it comes to the memory Performance as well as the core-to-core latencies Thanks to the chiplet design as well as the infinity Fabric that they have to interface with when going out to your DRAM or talking between two different clusters of CPUs

Now this is one situation where x3d has always come in clutch And I expected to come in clutch big time this time around and potentially be one of the largest Performance increases that we've seen from a 3d cache variant In fact, I'm expecting at least probably around 20% or possibly even greater from adding the 3d cache now Why do I say all this well aside from all the architectural stuff that we just talked about? We just got a bunch of new information about the x3d CPUs as well as Intel's air lake CPUs And let's go ahead and take a look here

Can't wait for intel to roll out 286k 386k and 486k as a throwback special editions like the 8086k

Was waiting for intel all these years to improve for upgrading my system. Finally will upgrade, im on i5-8500, will upgrade to top of the line, looks like a good uplift in performance which will be very noticable.

If memory latency is an issue AMD should redesign the IO die, which they can still swap out at any given moment without redesigning the processor CCD.

Do people just like changing motherboards so much they keep buying Intel? Asking for a friend.

Same day 9950x got released and was just extreme dissapointment, got 7950x3D instead... Its just night and day difference compared to non 3D zen 4 cpu's...

Wait.. is this AMD X3D performance gain with or without Windows Admin account compared to 7000 series?

Even if intel makes a banger CPU I am not touching them for at least the next 5 years. They need to know how they handled their 13/14 gen issues was completely unacceptable.

I'm keen for Zen 5 X3D. If 3D cache can help with the bottleneck during gaming that Zen 5 seems to suffer from, it could bring larger improvements over the non-X3D than last gen.

I think I subscribed to a channel with fairy tales for children, AMD increases 20% performance in gaming, Intel is faster in gaming than AMD and cheaper, dear god where is this world going...

People are forgetting that usually the new ryzen gen comes out on parallel with motherboards
These non x3D 9000 series didn't have mobos --> asus leaks new motherboards release dates to september --> 9000 x3D cpu coming out September/October?
Are they going to do like nvidia when it releases the gpus?
With the flagship being releases ages before the rest of the line-up?

I'm very happy with my pc as it is now. Unless something happens to the hardware and I have to replace it - my system is gonna stay as is for now.

This is what I've been saying, since the reviews started coming out. The Zen 5 cores themselves may have the performance we were promised, but they didn't really update the memory controller, which was already bottlenecking Zen 4. What did the expect would happen with Zen 5? The up side for gamers is that yes, X3D stands to give the 9000 chips a big performance uplift, if the lackluster results are down to memory bandwidth.

Loved the video! But do you know anything about Strix halo?

You are wrong; 9700x should be compared to 7700.
