Zen 5 X3D vs Arrow Lake CPUs - Specs, Price, & Release Dates
Okay So yeah bulldoZen 5 is finally here and at least if you're a desktop user on Windows very very underwhelming to put it lightly However, the actual Zen 5 architecture is really good on paper So it has a lot of people scratching their head as to why this isn't Translating into desktop and gaming apps that most people would actually use on a day-to-day basis
I think a lot of this actually comes down to the severe bottleneck when it comes to the memory Performance as well as the core-to-core latencies Thanks to the chiplet design as well as the infinity Fabric that they have to interface with when going out to your DRAM or talking between two different clusters of CPUs
Now this is one situation where x3d has always come in clutch And I expected to come in clutch big time this time around and potentially be one of the largest Performance increases that we've seen from a 3d cache variant In fact, I'm expecting at least probably around 20% or possibly even greater from adding the 3d cache now Why do I say all this well aside from all the architectural stuff that we just talked about? We just got a bunch of new information about the x3d CPUs as well as Intel's air lake CPUs And let's go ahead and take a look here
