Today, we’re getting into everything we know about AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 9800X3D, their first Zen 5 X3D CPU that’s generating a lot of buzz in the gaming and PC hardware world. With Intel’s Core Ultra Arrow Lake CPUs struggling to impress, AMD has a golden opportunity to dominate with this chip, and the leaks so far suggest it’s aiming to do just that. From improved clock speeds and re-engineered cache stacking to unlocked overclocking potential, the 9800X3D could seriously raise the bar for gaming CPUs. I’ll go over why this chip might just knock Intel off the top spot, breaking down everything from expected performance gains to pricing rumors, and how AMD is playing it smart with this release. Let’s see if this CPU will really live up to the hype!

We've got some more information from AMD's own Jack Huynh for the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
According to AMD's own benchmarks the 9800X3D will be about 8-10% faster on average compared to the 7800X3D. So it is slightly better than I had expected. However I am hearing the price will be indeed be increasing 💰💰 to $479 so it kind of negates the increase. Was hoping they'd keep the prices the same.

I'm a big Intel fanboy and I took the arrow to the knee 😭 I can't defend this, I'm finally buying a AMD product.🥵

AMD is definitely going to have higher prices for these CPUs since the demand will be high. Arrow Lake being a flop means guaranteed market share from gamers even at higher prices

I like how amd released the announcement right after this video

I'm probably gonna end up going with AMD for now. Been on Intel for ages and I like what they're attempting with Arrow lake.. but it needs a little more refinement. After talking with some more experienced overclockers and system builders I think I'll just go with 9950X3D for now.

May check in on Intel again once were closer to Nova lakes debut. Especially if that rumored 52 core (16p/36e) skew ends up on the market. That's one thing Intel is missing right now that others have also mentioned is a good Halo product to rally behind. Intel used to have their extreme series CPU's with the 9980xe and 10980xe along with an absurd MSRP lol. I think they should bring back the extreme series. Ultra Extreme 9 485XE Ultimate Dominator CPU lol (Seems to be how marketing thinks..)

Also saw an article about the Biostar X870E Valkyrie motherboard. Hopefully it launches along with X3D. I really like the fratures and rear IO on the board. It's got a pretty clean basic aesthetic to, not completely slathered in neon colors RGB and chrome.

I really like the Asrock Z890 boards too.. but Arrow Lake seems like more of a prototype than a product atm.. Hopefully Intel can offer something enticing based off of it in 2-3 years.

Pretty strange to see RAM compatibility is 3600 and 5600Mhz when AMD announces the best frequency is 6000 but is compatible up to 8000.

1:59 I think you meant EXPO, even though some motherboards support both.

Good luck buying one of these at launch 😂

I had a 7800X3D but I changed for a 7950X3D and I like it better. I'll wait for a 9950X3D (if there is one).

I think it will be 2-10% depending on each game in comparison to the 7800X3D and story is over. Too much stories on Youtube about this.

What a lot of people miss out on is the fact that you can get a 7800X3D with a B650 motherboard and a 32GB 6000 RAM for mess than a high end Z790 motherboard like the Apex, that point you missed when you mentioned yourself being the owner of a 14900K paired with such OC focused board without forgetting the expensive ram and cooling.
Comparing the X3D parts to any tuned Intel chip is simply stupid, especially when missing out on the most important factor which is price/ performance figures. Even the 9800X3D with it's 480$ price tag still a good value proposition compared to those power hungry delidded and fine tuned 14900K or KS + 8000MT/s RAM + Direct Die cooling and so on.

jay2cent said that 9800x3d makes all older charts look small. so amd isn't joking about 20% uplift. intel is cooked.

that overclock! if even 5.4 or 5.5 is common on decent mid-priced cooling it will be insane!

Even though i'm AMD fan i believe 9000x3d series are overhyped (not overrated tho). Not as big improvment as they are calling it. Also in the times where games are more GPU bounded than ever unless you are willing to play in 1080p on high-end setup you will not feel the difference between 7800x3d and 9800x3d..

IntelFunClown play w Cinebench (OPTIMAZED INTEL) not real soft games, maybe find synthetic test optimized for amd??? and result base on him?

People complaining about a 479 price... remember the 8 core 16 thread 1800x cost 500 usd at launch.

I’m highly suspicious about the 9800X3D - there’s a reason why AMD are making the 7800X3D so hard the get, my guess is they’re going to hike the price by a significant margin😔

I'm still tempering expectations. Because AMD has had a history to literally trip on its face when they are ahead or should be going for Intel's jugular (so to speak).

The Zen 5 non x3d chips that came out was so underwhelming, that I simply can't get overly excited for the x3d parts yet. With the Intel Ultra chips being a joke for gaming, the x3d chips need to perform without any underlying issues (i.e. windows scheduler, or unlimited power profiles, etc).

I call within 10% a tie. I'm definitely not going to notice on my 1080p monitor. I also don't use ray tracing.
