I've gotten bacterial meningitis in my hogs. Convulsions and nystagmus are what I look for(also "thumping" hard forced exhales). If you treat them with the right antibiotic, and hand water them ( cupping water in your hand and dribbling it onto their mouth as they have limited motor function to go to a waterer), they have a fair chance of surviving. Since I've started using an autogenous strep vaccine on baby pigs, I've had almost no cases of it. Meningitis hits very hard very fast.

Can someone explain like a 12 year old. If you’re not incfected by another person, is it then possible to get it? I feel like they never talk about the origin. Can I walk outside free from human and develop this in some way I consumed something from the nature, or just the body itself fails fron time to time just like cancer.
