Grade 6th on Khan Academy: By the 6th grade, you're becoming a sophisticated mathemagician. You'll be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide any non-negative numbers (including decimals and fractions) that any grumpy ogre throws at you. Mind-blowing ideas like exponents (you saw these briefly in the 5th grade), ratios, percents, negative numbers, and variable expressions will start being in your comfort zone. Most importantly, the algebraic side of mathematics is a whole new kind of fun! And if that is not enough, we are going to continue with our understanding of ideas like the coordinate plane (from 5th grade) and area while beginning to derive meaning from data! (Content was selected for this grade level based on a typical curriculum in the United States.)

Khan helps lots of different people.
I tried to learn percent problems, even a really elaborate scheme that someone thought of that was a "sure-fire way" to remember it.
Nothing worked until I found Khan Academy's math online.
I have a head injury that effected the frontal lobe of my brain and I couldn't do Math afterwards.
IDK what Sal did to help it but it worked so well my doctors are all now trying to figure out what it was that helped. And they recommend Khan to their other patients.

Well for a start you know he's thought out his lessons, I have no brain problems yet at high school learned jack shit because the teachers never thought out how to apply there knowlege of maths. Kinda sad really considering they've spent there whole life going through college and uni to only be some person who reads out of a text book.

For the second problem a easier way is to just divide 15 by 30 and whatever you get equals to one percent then multiply that by 100 and there is how many penguins live at the zoo 🐧

In my head I would just figure out what 1% of of the total is, and then multiply by 100. E.g.
30% of total = 15 penguins, divide that by 30
1% of total = 0, 5 penguins, multiply by 100
100% of total = 0, 5*100 penguins=50 penguins
