I love how intently the dogs are supervising this process. So cute!

This is an excellent recipe. Thank you for posting it. I have found that the silicone storage bags are excellent for food storage if you want to get away from plastic storage bags. The brand name “Stasher” storage bags are my go to because I have a chronic condition which makes me sensitive to chemicals. I use glass when I can but when I need freezer or short term refrigerator storage these are my go to. They are reusable, free from chemicals like BPA and they work really well in the freezer. They are pricey but since they’re reusable, you’ll end up saving quite a bit of money in the long run. I don’t mean to sound like a commercial for them but they are really fantastic.

My dachshund Ceaser taught me exactly what to feed him. Throughout his 20 years with no vet visits. He chose the carnivore diet and it worked.

I make a couple months divided into 2 day supply packets in the freezer- basic recope no organ meat. I supplement wild caught sardines & freeze dried heart & egg, bone broth, colostrum as toppers when feeding. I barely have time to cook for my ppl family- so this is best I can do.

The stainless steel Tupperware on Temu is AWESOME! We threw away everything plastic (recycled it into storage containers). They stack nice and have labels too. Multiple sizes. Even great to freeze licky mats, Kongs and Pupsicles.

I recently started cooking for my overweight black lab who has some mobility issues. My recipe has been relatively close to this, just ground turkey, a dollop of pumpkin puree, and turmeric. Organ meat prices have gone through the roof but I can find a frozen 1 pound ground turkey roll for $2, which makes two meals. I'll start adding the other nutrients. I never thought about carrots.

You have done a better job of balancing than most. You are correct in that many videos on YouTube fail to meet any dietary requirements and contain lots of misinformation.

But you’re putting in a lot of work that for most dogs is unnecessary except for the transition. The less you process the better from cooking to grinding. You are correct that for adult dogs balancing over a week is fine, but for puppies you need to balance daily. So for an adult dog just chunk of raw beef heart in the morning and a ground mixture in the evening. If you’re not feeding raw meaty bones then the ground mixture would contain your minerals and maybe some pumpkin and fish oil or ground cooked salmon.
Your other options is to use a premix that contains the organ meats and bone meal and other vitamins so all you need to feed us muscle meat and the premix.

You can also save your egg shells in the freezer and dry in a low oven and turn to powder and use instead of buying bone meal.

I appreciate the fact that you brought up sustainability on your ziplock bags. You can rinse them out and reuse several times.

I cook for my dog, I have a Papillon Pomeranian cross, I’m gonna try out that recipe that you just put out there for everybody, that would feed my dog for a couple months. I’ll just freeze it. The food that I cook, I can eat myself, you could eat that, that looked really good and I’m going to try it when I make it for my dog. Of course there’s no seasoning in it, but that’s OK.

@9:19 Tip: rubbing alcohol will remove turmeric from most surfaces.

Why don't you include any carbs?
I have been cooking for my dogs for about 2 years. A diet prescribed by our holistic vet. They've been loving it and are doing great. But it includes carbs. Namely sweet potato or inham (don't know if that's spelled right).
Thank you so much for sharing.
Been following you for a long time and love all your content ❤
Keep it up

I've found it easier and not as messy to cook the meat before I grind it up in the food processor. Also, I ask the butcher to grind it for me when I have time.
