i self learned this lesson between 2011 and 2015 (2 years ago).. i was earning over a 100, 000 but i was broke at the end of the month.. i was hitting all the clubs, splurging money on a useless girlfriend.. so i started saving half of my income first, spend from the rest (about $3000 a month in savings and the same in spending).. i was never happier.. ive also figured that if i can cut down on my car payments, i could afford a 10 day solo trip to europe thrice a year while keeping my savings at the same level.. this guy spoke my mind..
