Tony had the tech connected to each suit. The glasses were only designed to be used after he’s dead. That’s why in the earlier movies he was able to have Jarvis and Friday connect to his satellites. Hell he used it to buy a building mid battle to put down the hulk

I’m pretty sure Edith was something that happened during the 5 years between infinity war and endgame. As I’m sure it was that point where Tony realized he isn’t as invincible in an Ironman suit as he thought.

It’s amazing that Tony gave it to Peter that shows how much he loves him even though he has his own wife and kid he gave it to a 16 year old kid because he knew Peter was the most trustworthy kid ever

EDITH acronym for Tony's glasses only came up in Far From Home which means the writers of that movie came up with that term. Tony's glasses in Infinity War also happens to be nanotech that's why you can see the glasses he's holding disappears and gets absorbed by his nanotech armor.

Edith was probably created during the blip. After everything happens with thanos, Tony faced his mortality and in understanding he could die any of the next times he puts on the suit, he created Edith as an insurance policy. The only real issue I have is that Tony left the glasses to Peter but how? He would have to have done it before they did everything with the time heist, which means he left them to Peter potentially given the possibility that he wouldn’t have been able to bring them all back.

Technically leaving this type of technology in Peter's hands as well as him putting Peter in the middle of civil war without his aunt's knowledge makes him guilty of child endangerment and probably breaking several other laws. I do love Tony Stark as much as the next guy but keeping Peter safe was not something he did very well.
