Learning to cut my hair was one of the best decisions I made. Don’t get me wrong it won’t ever be as crispy as going to the barber. But I have got to the point where it blends well and I just have so much more faith in myself than barbers to give myself a cut I’m happy with.
Went through trial and error for nearly 2 years now but slowly you start to understand what you’re doing and how fading really works.

My brother is self taught, by cutting his own hair, through trial and error since he was 11. He is 31 now! He still has moments when he walks around with his hair and beard overgrown and wolf-like. But when he isn't too tired, he'll cut his hair. I'm always impressed by the way his haircut comes out. He still doesn't think he's a descent unlicensed barber, though.

But he says when people ask him about his haircuts and/or offer him to cut their hair, he said he gets nervous because he's only used to cutting his own. Even though he always ends up giving them a haircut and it comes out nice and clean. He said he still gets nervous about it. But learning to cut your own hair takes time and is a gift 👍

Just recently took this into my own hands and did my 2nd haircut.. it actually looks very nice. I learned and invested into this because barbers could never get exactly what I wanted, for the right price. I was willing to pay a good amount, it’s just that nobody was consistent with their cuts. Remember guys, nobody understands what you want EXACTLY but yourself!

Bought me a cheap set of clippers and trimmers off Amazon last year, and been cutting ever since. Just upgraded my clippers and trimmers to Babyliss, now I’m getting a fresh cut whenever I want it, no waiting, no appointments.

It comes in hella clutch being able to cut yourself up. That first haircut had me thinking if I still wanted to learn but at the end it was worth it. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes to stay fresh. Yea it takes patience to learn but once u do it’s well worth it. I’d recommend any kinda taper for a beginner. They’re much easier than when u first learn how to do a burst or a drop or all around fade.

yes bro, i’m a beginner and no one trusts me, so i decided to give myself self a cut, i fucked up ofc, the thing is i forgot to flick out when i was trying to blend, and im glad i took a risk of cutting my own hair, because now im not gonna be scared next time when i try to cut my hair and flick out to blend

Man I'm still learning. Teaching myself every 3 weeks when my hair grows back. I keep messing up my line up on the right side of my head but eventually I will get it right.
