White and Pink Noise Generator

A white and pink noise generator has a wide usage in a lab to make measurements on audio devices.
The white noise is used, for example to evaluate the bandwidth and the frequency range response of amplifiers and preamplifiers, as well as measuring the cutoff frequency, order and quality factor of a filter.
Pink noise is instead used to help tune equalizers to get the best frequency response of an audio system installed in a listening room

Both white and pink noise are also used as a source of sound for special effects generated with music synthesizers.

And, finally, it is becoming more and more trendy to use noise generators with a soft sound to use at night for relaxation while you sleep. I'm not really sure on the science behind this, or if this is just another advertisement thing to make you buy a "relaxation device". If you happen to build this generator you could give it a try and see if that works for you too.

Although you can find very expensive generators on the market, it is relatively easy and inexpensive to build a simple generator that can provide both white and pink sources of noise. This project is exactly that, and it is also easy to implement. Give it a try.

Happy experiments!

Did you ever think about to publish a book with a 'best of or essentials' collection of all your projects? I think it was a good Idea. I'd buy it. For me just a little minus in your videos is the fact, that i can not easily understand your english with that italian accent. But...I like itte😀🇮🇹
A solution for me is to reduce the speed of the video and choose german subtitle🙂 thanx to youtube👍
