I attended the christening of Nimitz as a kid. I remember a huge cake shaped like the carrier. The Navy gave public rides up and down the aircraft elevators.

My Dad was on the Nimitz. He loved it. He was just a kid from Arizona living on a boat on the ocean. He had some cool stories about that carrier.

I have heard of plans to scrap CVN-68. CVN-68 is perhaps the best aircraft carrier afloat at this moment due to its being built properly and due to its age. Yes, its age. The steel which comprises CVN-68 is stronger that when it was built. Does anyone realize what it costs the taxpayers to fund the build of an aircraft carrier? What if we need that and other such ships? What if? Does anyone realize that you cannot put money into a machine and out falls out an aircraft carrier? It takes years to build such a ship properly. Do any out there think that an enemy of America, an enemy of the King of England, will wait for us to build more aircraft carriers? Where do traitors come from? What amongst us hates America and Americans? We have parked navy ships within Suisun Bay before. Those special forces types love it out there, San Francisco, Alameda and Marin County. Give them purpose. Dredge Suisun Bay and park and maintain valuable navy ships. There is no amount of deliberate damage done to CVN-68 which the boys, girls and wunderkind cannot repair.
