How Aircraft Carrier Works? US Nuclear Power Ship Nimitz Class #ship

This is a Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier, which can be divided into several parts.

At the top is the deck, divided into two Sections.
This is the landing strip, placed diagonally, and the steam-powered takeoff platform.

On the bridge, there's the antenna and radar system, along with a Tower Air Boss to direct aircraft traffic. Just below is the Captain's Navigation Bridge, Radar, and Radio room.

Inside this aircraft carrier is the Gallery Deck for combat and control operations, which oversee the four Phalanx Close Combat Support systems, and the Sparrow missile Anti-Air Defense System.

Level two is designated for the crew's living space, accommodating up to 50,000 personnel.
The main deck, one of the largest, houses multiple aircraft and weapon systems.
The third deck houses the engineering and electrical shops.

On the fourth deck, you will find two nuclear reactors connected to four generators.
Although classified, we can assume that the front nuclear reactors power the propellers closer to them, while the reactors connected to the generators power the propellers in the back

But wait, we will also look at the parts and functions of a Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier explained in a super-simplified animation.
Let's not forget the importance of a carrier strike group how they operate complete with its heavyweight aircraft fighter jets and Helicopters, so stay tuned and don't miss a beat."

Bro didnt only animate an air craft carrier, but its guardian ships, the engine, how nuclear reaction works, and the components of defense systems!

Well done

I am a former crew member of a CVN. you got it mostly correct, good job. Navy doesn't operate F-16 off carriers though. Also the radar range is much further than 300 miles once you take into account the ships E-2 Hawkeye aircraft that make its vision range much much further. The aircraft it carries increase her capabilities by factors.

that was the smoothest ass transition to a sponsership

Bro putting F-16s on the carrier is actually hilarious 😭

Nice... like the video! I especially like how smooth the transition to the sponsor was.

Man, pretty spot on description of pressurized water reactors.

The 2 A4W (Aircraft Carrier, 4th Core Design, Westinghouse) reactors on board are rated at 550 MW each. They require a refueling, called a Reactor Compartment Overhaul (RCOH) just once in the 50 year operational lifetime of the ship. One thing I’d like to add to your excellent description of how they operate is that there are two distinct water loops; The primary and secondary loops. The primary is the high pressure, high temperature water that transfers heat from the reactor. The secondary is the low pressure side that boils into steam, does useful work, and is condensed back into water. The loops are isolated from each other physically, transferring heat through “U-tubes” in the steam generators while maintaining containment of contaminated water.

Of the eight turbine generators you mentioned, four of those power the reactor coolant pumps and four are for ship’s load. There’s also something like eight diesel generators for emergencies, but don’t quote me on that.

I was a reactor operator on CVN-75, USS Harry S. Truman from 2013-2016, a rewarding albeit stressful experience.

Excellent job on the video!

You guys have outdone yourselves this time, bravo!

There's so much overhead space at the hangar deck. You could build a net platform overhead for people to sleep at. Hehe

It was a very well made and informative video. After spending five years of my naval career stationed on two different Nimitz class aircraft carriers, I was surprised at the amount of information that was accurate. There were still quite a few minor inaccuracies, but this video was better than most.

As many are going to say on here f16 do not take off from a aircraft carrier

What I liked the most was the helicopters turning blades while on the elevators
