The worst one for me is either Apple keeping lightning on the iPhone or the rather minor update to iPadOS this year.

I have the iPad 9 and am sure I will not be disappointed. I saw it as the best value tablet in 2023 for $269.00 at Walmart. Was very attracted to the iPad Mini 6, but had to go with the iPad 9 and its $230.00 price differential.

Not having Face ID on the otherwise perfect iPad mini is tragic. I’d love to have that perfectly sized device but that’s a dealbreaker. While not technically 2021 as it came out before … Gary I agree with you my M1 Mac mini is the greatest computer ever made. It laughs at everything I throw at it and I have the super cheap 8GB version. Brilliant.

I actually agree with your assessment of the MagSafe battery pack but I still have it and use it every few days with my iPhone 13 mini. Other power banks that I’ve tired don’t fit the shape as well and that always bugged me.

My fav device is in fact the MagSafe Battery Pack. I use it every day 24/7 and rarely need to charge my iPhone (stays at 90%). When it runs out I slap my second pack on and charge the empty one. It usually gets me through 36 hours and I think it is great for longevity of battery cycles and when I need extra I can easily get 15 hrs plus (as a satnav) with the pack!

No real disappointments. The MB Pro 14/16 are brilliant. The iPad Pro 12.9 is second best and no I do not care about iPadOS. I think Apple nailed it this year with some great product releases reflected in their stellar sales performance. Next year will be tough to follow such a fantastic year. Compared to say MS releases there is now a massive class divide and really MS needs to up their game. Samsung is doing so-so, the Galaxy S line is still suffering and Folds did not sell as well (outside S Korea) and laptops continue to sell slowly. No Tab 8 this year so a marked fall in tablet sales. Make or break for Samsung in 2022.

I love the mini iPhones, from the SE 2016, to the SE 2020, to the Mini 12. I have all three. I would have bought the Mini 13, but I got such a good deal on a Mini 12, it was an offer I couldn't refuse. Hopefully there will be a Mini 13 in my future when my cell plan rolls over.

Worst one: keeping an obsolete 60 hz screen refresh rate on the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13. Not acceptable for the price of these phones. Many mid range phones have a higher refresh rate.
Best one: putting a 1080p camera on the new M1 MacBooks. I did a quick research and couldn't find any other laptop with a 1080p camera. This should be a must have nowadays when online meetings have become so common.

I have to agree with you on the iPhone 13 mini as I’ve just bought one to replace my iPhone 8. It’s about the same size but the screen area is larger, the battery in my iPhone 8 had degraded significantly and sometimes would be dead in the afternoon, whereas last night I still had 48 % left when I went to bed. Generally quite a jump for me as I’m not one to upgrade every time something new comes out

You know the iPhone Mini is not anything that I'd ever want to buy, but I agree it belongs on the list it serves a customer that really went unserved for a very long time.

One issue with these new iMac/iPad smoothing is AWFUL. It's like I took myself into lightroom and made clarity -100. They need to add functionality to adjust that so I don't look like a doll.

How come you didn’t like the macro feature on the camera? I thought it was quite amazing to have a built in macro capable lens. Up until now we’ve had to use an external lens attachment Like those Moment lens. I thought it was a neat feature.
