This is helpful. I’m extremely cautious as to hiring someone, because we’re tight on budget and I don’t want to risk too much. I only hire people when I absolutely cannot do without them. You won’t miss the feeling - it’s like THE TIME HAS COME. Like, I’ve never thought we’d hire a project manager, because they cost too much, but then neither me nor my cofounder had the time to oversee the projects. And so we hired someone part-time, for a very affordable price. There are always options. When the time comes, solutions follow.

I'd also add, make sure you know what makes you money so you know how to spend your freed up time when you bring someone on! Otherwise it's easy to fall into the trap of "Sweet! Freee time!" LOL

I was looking for a babysitter a couple of years ago so I could have more time to work on our family business when I finally realized that if I hired a part time bookkeeper she would do the exact same work that was piling up-- only faster than I could do it! I think in the end it cost less than getting that babysitter and I got to spend more time with my kiddo instead of doing accounting work (which I don't love!)

With the field I am planning on entering, it's pretty much a must to have multiple employees. However, it is a low-skill job and therefore shouldn't require much training prior to making a profit.
