I hated him at first but at the end i felt bad for him. sad to see when bad guys at least try to fight the main villian but end up getting killed

When Amon said "You served me well Lieutenant", you literally should've known that this was the Lieutenant's death. Amon had so much energy built in him from taking Avatar Korra's bending that he could literally then cripple and kill anyone with Bloodbending. And when you literally see tears coming from the Lieutenant's eyes, you knew he was gasping for air and that his organs were being crushed.

To the people who are saying, "What was he thinking rushing at a bloodbender?!" Think about this. This dude was able to counter the attacks of benders from 3 elements, so hed probsbly lesrned the styles of their combat. Amon, Tarlok and Yakone werent just dangerous becauee they could bloodbend, but rather that they could do it mentally without raising a finger if they so desired. He probavly thought be was gonna raise his arm to blood bend and then stirke him whike his guard was down, but he had no way to counter or even anticipate being levitated in mid air throufh his own blood through a head nudge.

You know it's never stated what the Lieutenant's fate is but I'm like 99.9% sure that Amon just straight up murdered him right here.

Amon the master of non contact combat !!! And crazy manipulator. Tarrlok too. But Tarrlok lost the fight because he believed in himself too much. Amon turned out to be stronger. He didn't fall for Tarlock' hypnosis. And he chose to quietly approach and twist him, after which he neutralized him. Thus, preventing Leutinant and osers from understanding that he has the same power as Tarrlok.

Even without bending Amon would have defeated him.
