10.000 hours for to Become a Massive Success is inspired by the book 'Outliers' by Malcom Gladwell. Gladwell is a highly known journalist who wrote a couple of other books. He is also the one who was the first to introduce the 10.000 rule.

I am 29 now with almost 30k hours as software engineer. Very successful but the difference between 10k and 30k is less then 0 to 10k.

a lot of people who are successful its about who you know, if you have famous mates or parents your more likely to be on tv, an actor or a singer than someone who grows up around people working normal jobs. obviously success takes hard work but luck and who you know play a big part aswell.

Malcolm Gladwell later updated the 10, 000 rule to state that ONLY if a person has "innate talent" for the skill being practiced will that person become *massively successful* at it. If a person doesn't have *innate talent* for the skill being practiced then they will be better at doing the skill but NOT at a world-class level.
