J.K. Rowling changes her mind on Harry Potter ending

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling says Hermione should have ended up with Harry, not Ron. The revelation has caused a backlash among fans of the novels. CBS' Charlie D'Agata reports.

Honestly I think the movie mucked this up a bit. Especially since Emma and Daniel's on screen chemistry was better than Emma and Rupert's. The writers clearly made that clear and didn't do Ginny any favors by barely including her in all the moments Harry and Ginny had in the book series.

I think the reason why there were more intimate Harry and Hermione scenes in the movies that weren’t in the books (scenes like Harry and Hermione dancing in the deathly hallows and Harry letting Hermione cry into his shoulder after being heartbroken by Ron) is because the movie writers saw the potential of Dan and Emma’s chemistry on screen and although their characters wouldn’t end up together they wanted to try and explore their relationship as deeper than just friendship.

Ok this is a little off but. People who support the Ron and Hermione have always stuck with a few points.
1. They have chemistry
a: No they don't. This pulling pigtails is not chemistry. They bicker and fight because they are nothing alike. She is a hard worker, driven, and smart. She has big dreams. He is a lazy clout who doesn't want to do anything but barely get by. Tying her to Ron is like giving her a broom and changing her ankles to the ground with a chain of 30' and telling her to try and get to the 5th floor.

2. Hermione belongs with Ron because he never got anything during the books.
a: Bullshit, she is not a prize for him coming in second best. Ron would be dead a half dozen times if not for Hermione being far smart, or harry saving his butt too. Ron does not deserve an reward. He was put into Gryffindor because he is brave sure, but he is not loyal. He has betrayed Harry 2 times off the top of my head literally ending their friendship over his own pride and ego. Can you imagine sticking Hermione with someone who needs to have his ego stroked to stick around. Hell if she got pregnant he would bolt so fast she would have thought he finally mastered apporating.

3. Harry and Hermione have no chemistry or hints.
a: About as many hints as Harry/Ginny did, Books 3, 4, 5 come and go without so much as a passing thought of them together. Harry and Hermione have similar desires. Harry has an ambition that Ron latches onto because it would be cool to be a cop with his best friend. Harry is smart, clever, and thinks on his feet. Hermione is ambitious and clever, she can think and plan with the best of them. Hermione cares about people other than herself, Ron rarely ever things beyond his own needs or the concern of his family and his friends to a lesser degree. Harry literally walked to his own death to try and save his friends. The two have more in common but are not carbon copies like Ginny is to Harry. Hermione pushes Harry to study more and put more effort, which he does. Harry pushes Hermione to relax more and have fun, which she does.

Before I got into the fandom, I used to always think that JK Rowling doesn’t like the idea of normal stereotypical books so I made up a conversation in my head about JKR picturing who Hermione is gonna be with in the future and it kinda went something like this:

“Hmmm, Hermione is a very lovely girl and she deserves someone who truly loves her in the end, but who could it be... Oh yes! Harry Potter, of course! Wait, no, some people will complain about how the hero always gets the girl... hmm. Wait! I know! Draco Malfoy! After all those teasing (and bullying) years, Draco and Hermione will soon fall in love with each other! No no no, some people will also complain about how the misunderstood boy gets the girl... I need someone where the readers are surprised about the pairing at the end... wAIT! RON WEASLEY! OF COURSE!”

I mean I like the book version of Harry and Ginny and for me I think that what Harry said in the deathly hallows is the best description of Harry and Hermione's relationship which is 'shes like a sister to me, I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same about me' i never felt they had any romantic chemistry I always felt like Hermione and Ron had that because they were like the bickering couple, but were very fond of one another on the inside. They understood each other better than either of them understood Harry and I think Ginny understood Harry because she knows what it's like to be under the influence of Voldemort. So Im pleased of who they ended up with and I'm glad things worked out the way they did even though I didn't like the relationships as much in the movies.

No it should always be Ron and Hermione the fact that they argue so much yet still remain friends shows how strong the relationship is Harry nor Hermione never express feelings for each other. Harry and Ginny share the same traumatic experiences with Voldermort they both know what it's like for him be inside their heads and see all their darkest secrets. Also having the main male and female protagonist ending up together is such a cliche be original people!!!
