I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional page where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a beginner just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.

My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game.

My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.

Coming back to this video about a month later after implementing these tips. My chipping and pitching has improved by 10x. Almost always good contact and direction. Feels so easy and confident now. Thanks so much!

I took up golf late in life...now age 70...started playing senior tournaments at age 50 and won a fair number of them....secret for me was the short game...no one hits green all the time, and the remarks from a good many of my competitors was your short game is amazing! My practice time was limited and probably 75% was spent on pitching and chipping. In my opinion, everything you guys said is absolutely spot on. For chipping, my thought was to play it off the back foot depending on the lie...if the lie was poor and on more bare type ground or in a hole, play it further back off the ankle...comes out low and allow for the roll. Going forward for short pitches, my thought was to have the hands lead and then extend the club face as if you could set a glass on it out front...biggest thing I watched others do was decelerate on the way and chunk it or get the hands back and skull the closer to the green, the less loft....ie, chipping with a 7 iron instead of a sand wedge

So nice to see Capos from the Genovese and Columbo "families" collaborating, having a "sit down", in a "respectful" manner about chipping. No turf wars going on here - just calm. As Paulie said in Goodfellas "We need calm". Seriously, very helpful vid. Chipping yips can be the bane of one's golf game. I know. As even Eric stated, he had suffered the blues from bad chipping until he turned his life around and got straight ha ha !. And Tommy "You're a funny guy" and the best, most charismatic, teacher here on YT. I'm thinkin' 'bout starting out as a soldier and then progressing to becoming a "Made Man" in the Saguto Golf family. What's the link to do so ?

Maybe it’s a Language thing, but y’all’s tips, more than Rick Shiels, Peter Finch, and their crew; have drastically improved my game in no time. Things like “chest down to find the ground”, and left arm straight to right shoulder- have way improved my game. I’m excited to see how these chip tips will help me next round. Keep it simple, and keep it up gentlemen. I tell all my friends about y’all. Big 👍

Been practicing this setup and it has improved my chipping 100%. Also use the same setup from 30 to 40 yards out and it works great!

This video changed my life. Short game on a new level. All my buddies want to know where I learned to chip like this. I had two chip ins on my last round and plenty of 1 putts due to being inside of 6' after a chip.

Thanks!

Excellent instruction you guys. I have an addendum to what you at the front of ball not the back of the ball. That will assure you will hit the ball first, if you have your weight forward and head centered.

The best chipping lesson of a multitude that I've seen. Something that works great for me as an engine of the pivot, is imagining the lead side pec moving through 2 points, on a swing plane arc, in front of the body. A few practice swings will give a feel, for the shape and required amplitude, of the swing for a specific shot.
