Liking the change up vid, showing the detail of the maintenance of such a complex set up. Will make smaller/casual fish keepers appreciate only having to spend a few hours a week maintaining their own set up!

So just a little knowledge I wanna pass on because I build Inground pools. 1 your not supposed to move the multiport (black valve) on your sand filter while there’s water moving thru it. It can cause it to explode. 2 when cleaning the media in the filter. Backwash is what loosens up all the gunk. And rinse is what sends the gunk out. RECIRCULATE however BYPASSES the filter media so it just goes in the multiport and out the backwash hose. 3 When backwashing the the little glass ball should show how dirty the water is rushing out the hose. Your supposed to backwash for 30 seconds and rinse for 15 seconds and repeat that cycle about 3-4 times

What if to clean the filter socks easier, you make a concrete pole that lets you invert the socks and blast them with the hose in an upright position?

It sucks but the filters have to be cleaned for the health of the fish and oddly satisfying too. I like seeing that clean water gushing back into your tanks 👍👌🤜🤛😁🇦🇺

I love watching Everything even though I don't have any fish now I want to get some eventually not BIG ones think I'll stick with guppies or goldfish but I have learned a lot from you guys . You know the first thing I thought when I saw the title was something like "Oh great what got eaten now?" Glad I was wrong.
Definitely not a fun part of the hobby though. You also reminded me I need to clean the canister filters on my 70 gallon *sigh* Oh well I can't complain too much after seeing all the work you have to do. It still amazes me how much effort you put into these fish. Keep it up, the hobby needs more people like you :)

Hi Josh, can you show us how you prime your filters? Specifically your canister filters? Sometimes they give me trouble priming again!
