If you haven't already, you are now obligated to play as Bahmanis.

"people don't pick nations outside of Europe"

Japan wants to have a word with you

I love playing as Vijayanagar, it's their big yellow neighbor. They are really cool event wise, and I love playing as them and trying to unite India/Bharat.

I'd kinda argue that Bengal has an equally good if not slightly better start as the Bahmanis because while they start off weaker than the Bahmanis they also start as Sunni rather than Shia (which makes diplomacy much smoother), have all of Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist nations around them (making it much easier to balance AE) and start much closer to the Malacca node which directly feeds into the Bengal node so it's pretty easy to have a ton of trade income quite early. The main early game threat for them is Jaunpur but you should usually be able to outgrow them pretty easily as Jaunpur starts off very close to a lot of the Indian regional powers and has fewer expansion paths than you

As someone who played EU3, most of my EU4 games tend to be outside of Europe lol. EU3 had a bigger focus on Europe and other nations tend not to have unique missions/events.
The Indian sultanates in EU3 had a big disadvantage because they had to convert everything and Hindu nations had the Religious Liberation CB, which allowed them to take Hindu land held by non-Hindus for 1/4 of the infamy (AE).

As someone with 5, 000+ hours, I've played outside of Europe about 75% of the time. There's so much fun to be had out there, give it a go folks :)

Any nation that I'm not playing...

Because the one I'm playing is going to implode on itself.

Big Tip for Bahmanis is when you declare your reconquest war. be sure to cobeligerate and vassalize andhra so you can return those cores aswell in your first war. also be sure to take a province to release madurai in the south for the 2nd reconquest cb. you will finish conquering the south alot faster that way.

Just finished a Bahamani campaign. Flipped to Zoroastrian, united all of India, Persia and Arabia. Monument in Shirvan was amazingly helpful. Pretty sure they get a permanent modifier called “Persian Advisors” that grants an advisor cost discount until the end of the game. Really enjoyed the mission tree as well.

I love Kilwa's start. So much gold, so fast. Trade for days.

One of the plays I enjoyed most was my Bahmanis -> Hindustan run. I often try it again after every couple of dlcs released. I do love Big Blue Blob - my absolute fav nation, but Bahmanis is very very fun!

The world conquest speedrun was done as Oirat so I think it's the strongest pick

I think playing outside of europe is more fun in the early game, you can blob so much more than in europe and you don’t have to deal with the HRE

Bahmanis is the one country I had the most fun. It's a big goofy shiate sultanate in the middle of the india and their land + the land around it is rich as heck. I am looking forward for your bahmanis video laith! Mission tree is also dope.
