I think reading is especially essential now. Considering the amount of data we receive from YouTube, Instagram and other social media. It's kind of a rest for the brain, because it will focus on sometime particular.

Fellow Stephen here. It's more a problem of the vastness of information we need to shuffle through on any given technology and also understanding its implications. I'm still constantly finding new little tips and tricks and "GOD I wish I knew this back then" we only got so much time.

Hi, Stephen. I appreciate your take on reading up on different technologies to improve upon system design. What do you think of taking notes? I often have difficulty recollecting a piece of information with its source.

P.S. "Designing Data Intensive Applications" would be the book that started it all for me.

I find it hard to pick the right book. I have so many where I thought from the title that it would be beneficial but I start and lose interest, because I know most of the stuff and need to pick out the parts I don't know while reading the parts I already know or its mostly theoretical and not practical enough for me.
