Video 8 GoFundMe campaign COVID 19 victims

Hi everybody,

It’s me again with a short report on the fundraising campaign we set up in June for the families of our drivers and guides who are in desperate need because of the pandemic.

The counter currently stands at just over EUR 5,800. We are very pleased with this high amount and would like to thank all donors once again.

After six months, the lockdown in Madagascar was finally lifted a couple of weeks ago. This means we can go further into the field to reach guides and their families in need with relief supplies.

This week we are organizing large distribution campaigns from three locations. As usual, the largest of these is in the capital itself. We also distribute relief supplies from our headquarters in Antsirabe as well as from our base camp at the gate to the south, Betsileo Country Lodge in Ambalavao.

It is from there that I report today. In an hour we expect members of the guide associations of Ambalavao and Parc d'Anja, a reserve a little further on. We will also supply them with bottles of cooking oil, sacks of salt and sugar, soap blocks and washing powder, and of course the inevitable 50 kg of rice for each family.
