Can you make a video on how to transplant an established lilac for instance when is the best time of year and how much of the root ball will you need.

I have a few questions regarding lilac transplantation. My understanding is that one should open the root ball to encourage growth. Also I agree that mulch, amended soil along with the original soil the lilac has been growing in is key; although i would put the amended soil, less fertilizer in the hole first before lilac planting. Fertilizer is tricky as one can burn roots. I also tamp or press down on the finished planting with my foot to get a firm contact for the new plant (to its new abode) with the soil and remove any potential air pockets that could hinder or kill the plant. A circular buildup around the plant is key in assisting the plant to hold water and agree with watering tips. I have had awesome success and have many lilacs and have many pollinators and butterflies in the back and front yard.

I am using lilac bushes on my south side open porch to grow and provide a living privacy fence so to speak- since it blooms fragrant blossoms only in spring, it is a beautiful leaf pattern and privacy from nearby neighbors while sitting on the front porch.

I hope you are okay regarding my thoughts concerning adding to your lilac shrub growing topic and always open to additional suggestions. Sincerely, Jacquie : )

Great video! I love how you talk refer to plants! Great respect and appreciation. I returned home to my new neighbours gathering the branches of 2 beautiful heritage lilac bushes that were healthy they provided privacy and beautiful blooms. They hacked it off right to the ground. I looked today and there are tiny buds is there anyway I can save these bushes by moving them or cutting and transplanting? Even if I could move them a couple feet onto our property. I was so sad.
