The music in this clip is two tracks on the soundtrack album - 'The Armstrongs' and 'I Oughta Be Getting Home'.

Composer Justin Hurwitz built this wonderful score around two main themes. The first one, heard here in a lovely string arrangement, starts off being used to show the warm family life of the Armstrong family, and is later used in a more pulsating fashion to show training at Houston, and finally erupts into a grand orchestral version for the tense landing sequence, before ending the film in a lovely intimate variation. The secondary theme, heard here in the swing scene, is played mostly on theremin, and is used for the sad subplot about the Armstrong daughter. This theme is then used triumphantly in a loud, brass variation as the counterpoint section during the landing sequence, before being interwoven with the Armstrongs theme during the closing scene.

Starring Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Ciarán Hinds, Corey Stoll, Patrick Fugit and Shea Whigham. Directed by Damien Chazelle, with music by his regular collaborator Justin Hurwitz.

That score just adds so much. Truly an unappreciated film.

The movie revolves around Niel being closed off from his emotions and that day he seemed to open up and have fun with his family. Then he takes a walk with his friend ( Ed white) and sees a swing set that reminds him of his daughter. Ed seems to want to talk to him about her and then Neil closes him off and snaps back into being introverted again and keeping his feelings inside. Wow! That's some great acting and writing.... notice when Ed begins to attempt to make eye contact and he wants to ask Neil about his daughter but Neil doesn't want to talk about it. Sad scene, his friend just wanted to get to know Neil's past as a good friend would want to do.

This scene must've been so hard for Rick and Mark Armstrong to watch. RIP Neil.

This scene had a very Terrence Malick feel to it.

One of the most amazing films in recent times. The director narrated the story from a humane angle which gives the audience an intimate look into the life of Neil A. I have really loved the movie.

Sometimes the best acting is done without words. The eyes of Ed White speak a thousand words at 3:23. Thanks for sharing this scene!!!

knowing Ed White's fate, 1:37 is very sad. Right after this scene is the scene of apollo 1.

Fucking incredible filmmaking to turn some man goofing around with his kids into what this scene is, what I saw, in its place within the film.
