PURPLE tomato plants what is wrong?

Danny is transplanting his tomato plants. We still have a couple of weeks before plant them in the ground. The young plants had purple stems and leaves. This is a phosphorus deficiency. Danny added it to the watering tray to help boost the young seedlings.

Danny I do the same thing I separate my plants and try to save everyone that I can👍🏼

I color code my starts too. Red cups for tomatoes, green cups for peppers.Blue cups for beans, peas
Purple cups for flowers and herbs

The purple can also be caused by temp swings warm to cold, cold to warm, but cool causes purple as well as deficiency

The Hoss tool seed starting trays were the best investment I made for growing everything from seed. Plants look great!

I don't worry about purple seedlings. I time my plants where I don't have to pot up, I just go from tray to ground and they always do very well.

26° in eastern NC this morning, another heavy frost as we have had throughout this entire winter. Beginning today we begin our spring warmup with highs well into the 70's later this week and looking at forecast, nightly temps will be in the high 40's to low 50's and daytime temps in the high 60's into the 70's. Ready to get my tomatoes in the ground, they are almost ready, planted potatoes and english peas last week.
