When you're in an unexplained story elements competition and your opponent is Ao Oni 2

First of all the oni statues. What are the oni statues? Cocoons? Are they placed by the onis in intentional places? Why are the only ones that wake up in that shrine room? Are they special "Ghost onis" that possess victims and turn them into onis or did they just eat Takuro like the rest of them, and Takuro experienced what everyone else did? What even is that shrine room? Is there a king or god oni that they worship, other than the one from Ao Oni 3 but that's a different universe.

Secondly the teacher, the only character they developed only for her to be just as confusing. If the teacher is sacrificing students to the onis, how are people not suspicious? Is the cutscene of Mika's group picture supposed to represent that their existence is erased outside of the school and they turned into Onis kinda like corpse party? Clearly not if Hiroshi was able to monologue about his friends and teacher being missing. What is the point of the teacher documenting the onis? Other than curiosity, she doesn't even seem to get some evil enjoyment out of this and even acts sad (I think???) that Takuro is an oni. Is her escaping the onis all just luck or are they siding with her? It can be inferred they're siding with her, but nothing really implies that they don't wanna kill her. They should be capable of at least knowing human speech if they can possess Takuro and make him act normal when he meets up with Hiroshi (Which now that I think about it happens in the first game too, but he was eaten/infected then too). AT LEAST 2 DECADES of her documenting the stuff that happens in the school is WAY WAY WAY too big of a gap to have between events.

Lastly Hiroshi and the teacher surviving. If the teacher's alive, and students from months after are visiting the school and she's still a teacher, as they call her one, then how have Hiroshi and the teacher not met especially after Hiroshi assumed she was dead? Other than "Not speaking about what happened to anyone" what even happened to Hiroshi? Did he transfer schools?

As a huge Ao Oni fan, I wanna like this game, especially since it had a lot of potential, but it just tries so hard to add cool things only for them to mean nothing. Maybe there's time constraints in the development of this game or the fact that it's a mobile game has something to do with it, but it's just so disappointing. I think one of the many problems with this game's narrative is that too many things happen off-screen and they try to match the tone of the first game where mysterious things happen, but it doesn't work if they aren't properly explained. Anyway end of autistic rant on Ao Oni.

Thank you so much for explaining the story! It still feels like some stuff isn't answered in this game, i wish we knew more about teacher's motive to come back and sacrificing students, it feels weird why is she doing this? Also, is the bonus scenario with the new kids that entered the school from Ao Oni 3?
